Golota was definitely the better boxer on paper. He had the size, the jab, and real skills when he kept it together. He gave Bowe hell twice and was outboxing him both times before the meltdowns. But that’s always the issue — Golota at his own best had decent tools but none of the mental stability. Panic, fouls, quitting — it followed him his whole career. Bottom line: Golota was simply mentally weak. Chisora's a tank. He’s fought everyone, and even when he’s outclassed, he never stops coming. Pressure, chin, body shots, and a refusal to quit. He’s way too mentally strong to fold under any heat — he just keeps walking forward. So yeah — if you give me the best, most focused version of Golota, he probably outboxes Chisora and wins a decision. But that’s a big if. Chisora would be all over him, grinding him down, making it messy. And history shows Golota doesn’t exactly thrive in that kind of chaos. I’ve got Chisora by late stoppage or ugly decision after Golota unravels under pressure — again.
Probably Andrew Golota in theory… but Chisora is relentless and extremely busy, I got a feeling Chisora would foul him back and into submission, Golota cracks if he doesn’t get rid of DC quick IMO.
The pressure of Chisora would ultimately crumble Golota since he could never hold it together when hit hard pressured.
The 96 Golota would beat the bejesus outta that bum. He was beating up Bowe. You think he would struggle with friggin Chisora?
Most likely Golata. Chisora would give him fits and I’d cheer for Derek. But Golata for as much as I dislike him was more consistent
Golota is the better boxer but he was always a bad round away (or sometimes even a good round away) from going mental. Chisora is the total wrong person to do that with. He's relentless and even if Golota started the fight with a healthy lead, Chisora wouldn't wilt. Even Vitali didn't knock him out. Golota quits late. Or does something weird and unexpected and ends up serving some sort of ban.
Golota didn’t win a single major fight. Every time he stepped up—Bowe, Lewis, Tyson, Grant, Brewster, Ruiz—he found a way to lose. I think he had a draw with Byrd, but that’s about it. And it wasn’t just the losses—it was how he lost. He’d freeze up, unravel, or straight-up self-destruct. Lewis and Brewster just steamrolled him, but the rest? Total mental collapse. The guy was seriously flawed upstairs.
If Golota can keep his head on straight, he can pretty much embarrass Chisora on his way to a wide UD win.
