Bowe vs Golota is scrapped, Holyfield vs Tyson is scrapped and we get this… 12 rounds - The exercise here is trying to make a case for Andrew to win… its just too easy to say “Holyfield cause Golota castrates him with an uppercut and is DQ’d” you get to devise the game plan for Andy to win… he doesn’t foul out because… he promised Poland or something… In this situation you’re Mr Golota’s most respected advisor essentially.

He can't. Too fragile mentally. He would fold up like a beach chair.

Holyfield definitely. Bowe wasn't good at fighting him, Golota's style didn't suit him and he didn't have a good Game Plan. Aggressive and putting pressure, Evander would have beaten him ahead of time

p.s. referring to another thread, the surname Gołota in old Poland meant a poor nobleman, someone of good birth but without wealth

Holyfield stated (sorry I forgot the exact quote):
"Andrew Golota is one of the few boxers who dared to stand in front of Bowe and fight man-o-man".
However, due to Andrew's mental makeup, I think Evander would still win.

You can expect anything from Gołota, but if he had a good day, he’d have a chance against Evander. Gołota is a big man.

If Holyfield had one of his off nights and Golota comes in like he did with Bowe, then I'm not writing the big guy out.

A prime Golota could beat the Holyfield who fought Moorer in their 1st fight, but part of me thinks Golota would still find a way to throw the fight away. Part of the reason Golota got flustered vs Bowe is because he couldn't put him away despite pounding on him, and as we all know Holyfield is one of the most durable Heavyweights of all time. So even if Golota fought a poor version of Holyfield he would still probably get frustrated he couldn't finish off Holyfield and he implodes again.

Holyfield brutally nails Golota with a headbutt. Golota flips out and retaliates by nailing Holyfield in the nuts. Holyfield sinks to the canvas in a state of paralysis. The ref is Mills Lane, who somehow misses all of the fouls and waves the fight off, awarding it to Golota.

Big IF, but if Golota entered the ring relaxed, with his mind right, he probably had the physical ability to beat anybody. As most have/will point out, AG probably never had the fight where his mind was exactly right. But, with his size, boxing ability, toughness, etc., if he was in a "zone" it would not surprise me if he beat EH or anybody else, but when he was "off" it wouldn't surprise me if he lost to anybody/everybody. He could make an opponent look really good or really bad.

Evander wouldnt stay in front of Andrej and frustrate him a lot.
Golota folds mentally while being down on points and fouls bis way out of the fight.

Holyfield didn't have that one punch, put-you-to-sleep power that triggered Golota's anxiety attacks. Holyfield never really had an easy fight at heavyweight barring Douglas. This would actually have been a great fight to watch with some exciting back and forth fighting. Impossible to see Golota actually winning the fight though. Holyfield just had that fanatical bravery that would overwhelm Golota eventually.

I haven't seen those fights but did either fighter really test Golota ?

Grant and Bowe for example took pounding in their fights vs Golota but they remained somewhat competitive and threw back occasionally which lead to Golota getting frustrated and ultimately quitting in different ways.

That's the issue I see with Holyfield even if Golota fought a poor version of Holyfield he would still be facing a fighter that would test him mentally and I don't think Golota has what it takes.
