Nah, he wasnt that good. Those fighters you mentioned had intangibles that Golota never showed.

Intangibles was his problem and that was the point, but he absolutely had the physical qualities you'd want in a dangerous heavyweight.

Well he couldn't fight a lick inside and you are talking about three fighters who would be bringing the fight there. You saw he imploded once Bowe got close. He would just lose there if he was sane.

He was better inside than the vast majority of HWs out there. I think that the guy's mental illness detracted from every public performance. I hear that he was a killer in sparring, because he was not in the spotlight. Either way, I strongly suspect that he was on 'roids, and if that is the case, forget what I said about him.

As I've said. I saw a lot of Golota in the gym in the 90's. He was a very good fighter but not in those guys league (Bowe Tyson Holy)

That's what you say. I'd have to see for myself and even if I didn't, a trainer who saw him more than you said otherwise. He destroyed Bowe twice -and I'm not at all convinced that he would have hurt Bowe a few years earlier too.

Ok well that greatness would have surfaced against lessor fighters where he wasnt under the same pressure. Golota fell apart when he was put under pressure. He was involved in many fights where it wasnt a fast paced fire fight, and I seriously doubt he ever had any gym experience on the level of a Tyson, Bowe or Holyfield, with 16 oz gloves and headgear, to measure his ability comparably speaking. I saw him spar with Tua, but it was only a couple two three rounds at a time, and then they rotated different guys in.
I dont think Golota ever had the prefight anxiety he eventually had until after the Bowe fights but his anxiety under pressure was well documented early in his career when he bit Pouhua on the neck.

    Like I said -headcase.

Golota was never "great" -he is by my estimations, a "coulda been" but for his ....deep-rooted issues.

Ifs and buts bruv dont mean nothing. And secondly being FAVOURED over someone dont mean $hit. Its what actually happens in the ring that counts.
Tyson was favoured over Douglas and Holyfield
    Foreman was favoured over Ali
    Frazier was favour over Foreman
Pavlik over Hopkins and so on

I could sit here all day saying If this, If that etc

Fact is Golota was missing a few things.

I cant stand Holyfield, but i admire and respect the mans accomplishments.

Last time i looked 3 out of them 4 have a W next to the name A. Golota.
Lennox was in his prime and he blew Golota out in 1 round
Tyson was shot and he did it in 2
Bowe was completely shot, even then Golota couldnt put him away? and on top of that he got himself DQ'd
Even if Golota took his whole corner into the ring with him, he still aint gonna win against Holy, Bowe, Lewis Or Tyson.
So Golota with heart etc would only have prolonged the inevitable.
    Him getting KTFO

With all due respect to Golota, he was an ok fighter, but not in the league of those 4
    Adamek is better than Golota

Oh yeah and Holyfield beats Golota

Depends if it was for a world title, Golota never crumbled or lost the plot in world title fights, i'd be picking him to beat Holyfield on points if it was for a world title, but if it wasn't he may get disqualified

Golota would have a zero percent chance of beating a prime version of Holyfield.

Nice theory, except Golota was knocked out twice in the first round during title fights.

I'm saying he never 'went nuts' in title fights because I was saying that he would've probably got disqualified if it was a non title fight, he took the title fights seriously, beat John Ruiz and Chris Byrd IMO

Holyfield by an 8th round stoppage.
