Andrew Golota vs. Filip Hrgovic.

Hrgovic would have a worse win percentage if he fought Golota's competition. I don't get your point. Hrgovic doesn't fight like Zhang, Joyce, Itauma, Adeleye, or Dubois. This thread is about Golota vs Hrgovic.

Also, repeatedly calling Bowe washed while having acted like Golota wouldn't beat the version of Joyce any day is crazy. And Bowe struggled with big men??? I've never heard that talking point before.

Now, this might be a cliche but Andrew was born with the same doubts in his head that 'normal' people have, and an ability to fight well above the normal person's. Now, the problem with this is that the ability to fight totally overshadows the doubt when he was fighting 'normal' people, people who would succumb to his abnormal skill set. Unfortunately when other aberrations did not crumble, Andrew's doubts began to overshadow his ability and he looked for ways to sabotage himself. Golota with a champs mindset, or a champs ability to deal with a 'normal' mindset would have been a bigger handful, but Andrew lived in the shadow of his doubts every day.

He'd hit Hrgo with everything and when Hrgo stood up, he'd bite him, but him, hit him low or freeze and offer his chin.

Is this amateur psychology? Absolutely. But Andrew's physical strengths were dwarfed by his mental frailty, and like the speck of dirt within the pearl, it was always there. And when he cracked, and he would, he'd show it to us...again...

Hrgo doesn't win this fight, Golotta loses it...

 

Bowe beat up Gonzalez pretty good.

 

I'm confused by your post and not sure what your saying but if it is in any support of Golota I disagree .. the Bowe freak outs were supposed to show a very talented but mentally weak fighter but the way he was iced early by Lewis and later Brewster and a faded Tyson show he didnt really have great durability either .. he quit against Grant, lost to Ruiz, drew w Byrd ... I just dont see the much to him ... to his credit he did fight well early against Bowe who eight month earlier KO'ed Holyfield but to me that was the best he ever looked and he self destructed ...

 

If you are confused, start at the beginning of the thread. I don't think I said anything wrong in my post, and you aren't saying anything new that I haven't already addressed.

I think the best argument for Hrgovic winning is the Grant fight. Hrgovic would probably have to be outboxed for 10 rounds, knock down Golota, and hope Golota quits. The problem is that despite Grant and Hrgovic having similar KO percentages, Grant is a better puncher if you have seen both of their fights. I assume that is because fights are stopped way too early nowadays. Watch Grant's right hand compared to Hrgovic's, and the difference is night and day.

Dubois, who has a somewhat comparable chin to Golota, was eating Hrgovic's punches when Hrgovic was at 100% at the beginning of the fight.

 

Golata lost every major fight he ever had. He was as mentally weak a contender as I have ever seen. He self destructed twice against Bowe, was flattened in a minute by Lewis, quit vs Grant and Tyson. Was destroyed by Brewster . Lost to Ruiz .. my point is aside from being bigger , stronger and more skilled than Golota Hrgovic's overwhelming advantages are heart and chin. He beats Golata easily.

Clownish statement. The likes of Grant, Brewster, a washed Tyson, washed Bowe etc. were not especially formidable opponents for a Hrgovic. Golota just had a dodgy chin and no mental strength whatsoever.

Is that supposed to be impressive? He didn't beat the last two and both were struggling at that point in their careers anyway. Witherspoon and Ferguson were in their 40's and washed up. Orlin Norris was in between two 1st round stoppage defeats. Danell Nicholson is his best win, who himself went 2-5 against his name opponents, with one of them being a 5 loss streak Ferguson. This is basically a list of journeymen, there is not one Zhang or Itauma among them.

He did. Which good big men did Bowe beat? The only one close to Hrgovic's size is Golota but he's still smaller and he was mediocre at best overall, yet he still gave those versions of Bowe a beating.
