Andrew Golota vs. Ike Ibeabuchi in 1997

Andrew Golota was very talented, had a top notch jab; but was not mentally tough enough to succeed at the highest level. I think Golota has a top notch chin and physically durable, but did not have the drive to fight through tough encounters.

Lewis and Brewster blasted Golota out early. They hit him with very hard shots, but he looked more like he was suffering from anxiety than being knocked unconscious.

Ibeabuchi would hit Golota hard and often, and would finish Golota very quick. Ibeabuchi tko 1.

 

Golota would fold up just like he did in every other competitive fight.

 

Ike - and early.

 

Ike would've taken him out in the mid rounds.

 

Yeah sadly i see andrew freaking out against a guy like ike, how did he get it so right against bowe for most of the fights (till the ballbusting hehe), BUT then seeminly never again, i read from various sources he was killing people in training and sparing, people who saw him said he was a ****ing monster, such a pity he was so fragile once it got real

 

A no contest or a double dq..whatever you call it, because once Golota was to foul Ike, then Ike would go berserk and bite a chunk out of Golota's jugular. Blood would be everywhere and they'd both be slipping in it so bad that the ref would stop it and either declare it a "no contest" or dq the two of them.

 

The men in white coats would eliminate both 'round the 4th. Hail the TKO victory.

Seriously though, Ibeabuchi, on a 7th round DQ.

 

Ike always remained calm in the ring. He was presented with two very difficult fights and remained calm in both. I cant see a breakdown on his side, but I dont think Golota would stand much of a chance. Ike was too fast for Golota and as soon as he put Golota on his ass, he would quit.

 

Not that Ike is better then Golota. Its was all mental for Golota. Ike by ko.

 

Ike is too unproven, imo. Golota (pre Bowe) was very good, even if he still arm punched a bit too much. I cant see Ike standing up to the sort of punishment that Bowe did and i dont think he would be any better than Bowe. For this reason, i see Golota winning by stoppage. It would be a very good fight though. And i suppose that if Ike was the real deal (which is unclear), then he probably would find a way to turn the table and pick up the win.

 

Golota pre Bowe fought noone of any note, thats why he looked good. Ike was world class, certainly more than Grant, who made Golota quit as well, and had a way better chin. Ike would make Golota quit. I agree Golota had some good skills, but Ike would put too much pressure on him and make him fold.

 

Fair point, but i was including the first Bowe fight, and even the second Bowe fight. They were both *******s and Golota was very good in both. I think that ike wilts under that sort of attack.

 

Really? After the war he had with Tua? He certainly took some serious punishment from Tua.
