hard to say. sergei looked awesome vs. brewster, but has looked shitty since. golota has been fighting with a lot of heart and determination lately, but physically, he's eroded. maybe i'd go with golota by decision.

That was then, & this is now. Brewster is only a shell of the monster that rocked Golota back then & today it would be a different story.

  6. I agree. A lot of these heavyweights who are trying to comeback to the spotlight really need to fight others doing the same thing. Crossroad fights are pretty exciting, especially in the heavyweight division. Fro example, David Tua should Brewster or even Rahman again.

Geez, Golota was cold as ice when he got dropped / iced back in 2005 by a "Lucky" left-hook from Lamon Brewster. The first round is always a tough / dangerous round to deal with when you got two big guys swinging for the fence... Golota IS a SLOW starter....

Lamon Brewster is seemingly a shell of his former self. He is aging and has eye problems.. PLUS! The wars have got to be taking a toll on his body... Brewster probably will NOT make it back to the top of the WBO mountain...

Sergei Liakhovich left his fight game in the same ring in which he beat Brewster in... Neither guy has been the same... Liakhovich has also put on additional "Useless" pounds as of late....

Right here, in 2008, I think Andy Golota is the better fighter out of the bunch... Golota is certainly in the BEST shape... Yes, he is slower now than ever before, but he's 41 yrs old.... Golota's problem is his slow starts.... He needs to turn on the heat from the beginning at this point... If Golota can prevent from getting whacked early, he can win over the course of 10 or 12 rds....

    Let's see here...

Golota's on a nice little winning streak and can still operate despite his advanced age. He's beatable but he can still fight a little.

Liakhovich took major punishment en route to beating Brewster and was then knocked out of the ring by Briggs. He then played the role of a punching bag for Valuev for 12 rounds, who looked as sharp as ever. Despite Valuev's lack of power he's still 325 lbs of man and he landed a lot of punches against Sergei.

You have one guy who's biggest concern is age and another guy who is probably damaged goods. That kind of evens the playing field IMO so it's a pick 'em fight at this point.

Agreed, and well put. Liakhovich looks in desperate need of inspiration at the moment.

I disagree. Lyakovich has lost his punch output and his conditioning. He's looked completely cooked in the last two MAJOR fights I saw him in, the first being his epic loss to Briggs (where the only two punches Briggs landed knocked him out) and his poor conditioning, poor output against Valuev.

I think Golota at this point would do JUST enough to eek out a majority decision.

It was funny to see how Golota kept getting up each time he went down. He obviously never recovered from the first shot but man he really wanted to keep on fighting.

Lyakovich TKO, I think he makes it a fight and ends up stopping Golota.

    Golota by murder.

This guy is at a career high weight vs Valuev, totally inactive, and seems as if he doesnt even bother to train anymore.

The guy had ***** tits when he fought Valuev.... and I didnt give him a single round.

    White Wolf is done.

    Golota by late TKO.
