Golota is a slow starter but, he is a fighter who trains hard and always comes back for more. Golota would hammer the "Burned-Out / Unfocused" Sergei Liakhovich here in 2008.... Just my two cents worth...

If you turn on ESPN Classic now, ( 2:00 A.M Eastern Time U.S) they are showing Liakhovich vs Brewster.

I have to give him credit. Liakhovich was supposed to have no chance, and be destroyed. He took some massive punches, and went to war in this fight.

Afterwards Liakhovich became a lazy bum. Which is a shame he could be pretty good. He don't have the desire to fight at the top level. He is like Buster Douglas, he don't want to train properly.

God damn Liakhovich took many huge shots on the ropes in the 5th round against Brewster and came back to hurt Brestwer.

If Liakhovich shows up like this I would give him perhaps the best chance of the HW's beating Vlad Klitschko. He has a good chin, size, boxing skills. But I just dont see him getting in decent shape or having the desire to fight. He was terrible against Briggs and Valuev.

It's not about being shape or having desire. Liakhovich is done. Personally, I don't think he ever mentally recovered from the Briggs KO. Losing your title by getting knocked out of the ring in the waning seconds of a fight isn't the easiest thing to get over. Not to mention the punishment he's taken in the last 3 fights. That all adds up.
