http://www.sportinglife.com/boxing/...NAME=commonwealth/10/10/07/manual_154340.html keep your mouth shut before a fightatsch Selby said: "Haroon's had many chances with the GB squad but he's just ended up getting hurt. I'm not the greatest at sparring but I still did him. He rushes in without thinking and I'll just pick him off." Andrew will get the gold now," said Stubbs. "He'll easily beat Haroon - both of us would easily beat Haroon."
I think Haroon Khan is perfectly entitled to run up his mouth after that. Selby can go hang his face in shame. If you gonna talk mad ****, you better back it up WHEN IT MATTERS.
I couldn't give a **** the lad ain't better then Yafai and i agree with why he was left out, Selby has egg on his face and Haroon's nothing special. He should enjoy the moment while it lasts....
I can't see why these fans don't understand that Yafai is a genuinely a world class amateur. He has proven himself at much higher tournaments than the commonwealth. Fair play to Haroon he is having a good tournament but instead of shouting his mouth off about the GB team be thankful that he even had the chance to be there.
Exactly, Imo i think certain posters on here are making this a issue not for his ability or for unfair treatment but because they want to stoke some fire up. Yafai is simply better boxer and Haroon has hardly lit up the scene in this country, He's only known because of his brother. I don't see these same posters moaning about Hosea Burton's treatment by McCracken.
Clearly Yafai is the more talented fighter and has the better track record Yafai in a recent interview: "He did well to beat Selby but I'd 100 per cent do a job on him. I'd love to fight Haroon back in England, but to be honest he'd just get hurt."
Congrats to Haroon Khan but at the end of the day he "won" 3-3. It's hardly a damning indictment of the selection policy is it?
