What with all the hype I don't see it for.been slick he gets hit a hell of alot and all that moving and doesn't have much of a punch at fringe world level can really see him get knocked out very soon And his opponents don't get nothing when it comes to the scores no way he won that easily
Is he actually promoted/managed by cyclone? On a side note, I wish themselves would buy hats that fit them!
He can't push Fighters back so a tough fighter with skills and a bit of a punch his getting beat down
I don't get all the hype either the way the fight commentators were saying what a great talent he was, you think he was the new Naoya Inoue. He has good hand speed and reflexes but his work is extremely sloppy at times and I'm not convinced he has any real power in his punches. He got hit far too much last night and he was lucky that the opponent last night, Flores, was one of the puniest hitters I've ever seen. That guy couldn't break the shell on a egg with his best punch.
There was clearly something not right with Selby that night. if they fought again another hundred times you would be lucky if McFadden won again. Let's see where both fighters careers end up.
He's decent but will be found out at world level. I think Daigo Higa will batter him, Higa is very good imo.
Think he forgets at times he has to win and is enjoying feeling in control by allowing his opponent to throw and hit him. He's always been a weird lad. I rem watching him on the pads as a kid and in between rounds he was phoning people on his mobile trying to be cool.
He's got talent. But it seems to me like he doesn't really like boxing, infact he's said that himself a few times. He has faced some decent opposition early in his career aswell tho
Yeah he's a bit like DeGale in the way he switches off and lets opponents set a rhythm after looking like he might dominate the same guy a few rounds earlier. Him and James also have Brit commentators frothing their knickers at the first shoe shine combo they throw so the similarities don't end with the above!
I thought he looked pretty decent albeit against competition he should look decent against. Flores was a real work horse, didn't stop coming forward. I think Selby is capable of getting a world belt but he needs to make sure he doesn't become complacent against the top fighters. His switch hitting and movement is very good, plus he has a good engine on himself as well.
hes very good i have seen him beat top quality opposition in the world series of boxing and was cheated out on winning a few medals as he fought the home fighters in the championships
