Probably the most decorated Welsh amateur, and Lee Selbys younger brother Andrew tweeted he's turned pro last night. Promoter still to be announced. How far do people think he can go in the pro ranks?:bbb
good move, he hasnt looked interested in the amateurs for a while now and that was apparent at the commonwealth games last year! imo he has been looking to give gb an excuse to release him from his contract and it has now either expired or been granted a release. it can cost a fortune to be released from a gb contract! reece mcfadden owned him at the commonwealths though!! hope they give him a chance at gb now before he too turns over.
On recent form he will be lucky to make domestic level but at the end of the day he is a very talented lad who could go far, lets hope he can.
You never know tho Beachie if we use his bro as an example no-one would have thought that Lee would be considered to one of the best from our shores at the beginning of his career. Something clearly clicked with Lee i wouldnt rule out the same with his bro. Heres hoping !
A top am but as we no that aint necasserily a good pro. His style in the ams was well suited for that game but if it was me coaching him now i would tell him to forget most of the style hes been using and build him from the ground up.
From what I've read he is being managed by Chris Sanigar which is a very sensible move. I suspect that Hearn will sign him soon.
without doubt ... I think this applies to most boxer when making the transition. I do think its easier now with the AMS structure now closer reflecting the pro's tho.
