The unofficial Box Azteca scorecard had it, as of the halfway point after four, tied at 38 apiece between "La Bonita" Sánchez and Jacky Calvo...

La Bonita has a mean left hook. She's laying down the meatier combos down the stretch, but Jacky is still piling on the pressure and not giving any easy rounds away.

 

The unofficial Azteca scorecard has Bonita Sánchez having swept the last three rounds, now up 68-65 heading into the final & eighth round.

 

Good finish. I tuned in about midway and had Sánchez pitching a shutout (but a hard-earned one) in the second half, same as the commentators...and if we trust in their scorecard, that makes it 78-74 to La Bonita...

 

Holy **** check this out...Calvo is coming off a string of FIVE consecutive majority and split decisions!!!

Split draw and majority draw in 2017, and then a trifecta of split decisions last year - one victory followed by two consecutive defeats...

 

...and the streak is busted! Sánchez defeats Calvo by UD!

The commentators decided to cop out, they couldn't split them, scoring it 10-10.

 

Insane second round, at one point Lara unloaded about four dozen (I'm not kidding) unanswered head shots gunning for the finish with Avila floundering on the ropes but hanging in there, maybe hoping Lara would punch himself out. Then as soon as he gets free and starts to circle in the middle of the ring, Avila gets dropped by a single left hook on the liver.

...and stopped moments later, just before the bell!

TKO2!!! Holy ****!

 

Damn, if these guys had gone the distance, or close to it, there was a solid chance of this main event not clashing with Román vs. Blanco elsewhere in the country on Televisa's card. That one is honestly my sentimental priority, so going to potentially need to call in reinforcements to score the Selby vs. Martínez fight... @CST80 @Drew101 @Boxing Prospect who's still up?
