Kotelnik against Alexander-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZSu2NiqCSg.
Wonder how much he has left :think. It was disappointing that his last fight what should have been a win Over Alexander that he never followed up on that fight.
I was just thinking about him the other day. Didn't know he had been off for so long. Good fighter who got jobbed in St. Louis.
Very good fighter. Excellent chin too. I don't recall ever seeing him hurt in a fight much less off his feet. He was robbed against Alexander and M'baye in their second fight and many thought he beat Witter too. The only fighter to ever beat him convincingly was Khan.
:deal I felt he beat Witter in a close fight, think I had it 115- 113 Kotelnik. One of Khans better wins, he had the right style and speed to beat Kotelnik.
I've not seen it for ages and I can't remember how I scored it. The rematch against M'baye was a travesty though. Kotelnik won that hands down. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they robbed him in their first fight either seeing as it was over in M'baye's backyard and all. Khan was definitely a bad style match up for him.
such long inactivity during what should have been his best years is bound to have an effect one of khans best wins
Because he got proper jobbed in St Louis by Alexander. Plus with the other Mbaye SD and Draw, he probs couldnt be arsed anymore and lost heart. I would like to see him v Maidana if anyone knows of any footage anywhere?
King blackballed him for not following the script and making Alexander look bad. At that point, Bradley-Alexander was a done deal and Kotelnik was supposed to be nothing more than a hometown tuneup fight. After the fight, not only did King have him "move" to 147 to quell talks of a rematch, he iced his career entirely. A rematch could've theoretically been made at any point, and it wasn't Kotelniks idea to leave off of a performance that was good enough to revitalize his career here. He got jobbed the same way Pirog did and Sergio did on the way up when they fought here- there was a price to pay for upsetting the apple cart and making the house fighter look bad.
Look at the names this guy has fought in Khan, Witter, Mbaye, Alexander, Maidana. Except for Khan there are some that felt he beat Mbaye, Witter and Alexander (he has the Maidana win)
