Hey Guys, I've started to develop a Android Score Card apps and would really appreciated the opinion of everyone here to see if anyone likes it, what improvements could be made and if you find any bugs. At the end of the day you guys are my 1# target audience so its you lot that I will need to develop it for. I've looked at a couple others and they seem pretty poor to me. I have some good future plans for mine including online storage, Sharing and automatic loading of fighters/matches So for anyone thats does download it and try it out. Please either leave feedback on the applications forum post found Application Forum Post or leave feedback in this post if you do not wish to sign up at XDA to leave feedback. Thanks and look forward to everyones opinions. Download from Google Play Store its Called - "Boxing Score Card - BritBoxing" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.britboxing.scorecard&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5icml0Ym94aW5nLnNjb3JlY2FyZCJd P.S I plan on many other boxing related apps as there are some really poor ones out atm and I think I can do alot better.
I'll check this out now and see if I can find/download it on my phone and get back to you. Great idea. My friend and I sometimes watch bouts without commentary and keep our own scorecards on paper for comparison. This app would be good if you could post live scores as the rounds progress, with the option of them showing on a freinds device if you are connected as 'friends' (if that makes sense?) either as they are posted or after the bout is over. A points and league system could also be an idea for future development.
I didnt see the name of the app. I have one score card app. Its oka, I dnt have a twitter so I kant reallg share my scorecard so seems like a dope feature. Ill see if it works for my phone
Boxing Score Card - Britboxing Thats the name of the app - yeah a live posting and comparison feature would be pretty epic :good
thanks Mr Valleyboy, ive updated the orinigial post to include the name and unhidden the link to the play store to make it clearer where to click! (forgot links dont appear in different colours on this site!)
No probs brit Ive downloaded it - not bad at all (obviously being at the beta phase its fairly basic and far from the finished product so Ive taken that into consideration) but yeah this has potential to be a good, fun app and I notice theres already a britboxing league (cool), would be a very good feature to link this app to that league somehow?! :good
Thx Valleyboy. The boxing prediction league is currently on lets call it "hiatus" same with the news/stats side of the britboxing site but the potential is there. I need to develop the site a fair bit further so that it takes less of my time to maintain and then I can concentrate on improvements to it, other apps and getting drunk
Haha I know what ya mean - roll on 5.30 so I can leave work and claim my well deserved post-work pint.....ok pints :drink
Hi Britboxing. What languages/frameworks are needed to develop Android apps? I know PHP, Javascript, HTML5 etc but any information to get started would be really useful. Thanks.
The interface looks nice. Good job :good Couple of questions: Will you make it available for iPhone? Can you record punches landed/missed during the round? Perhaps tapping on the left or right hand side of your phone as you go along?
That's where HTML5 web apps have the advantage over a native app but there you go. Anyway, BB have had their day. Time to move on buddy.
Interesting Id. It may be useful for users so that at the end of a round they can pick a score.. Not sure if its worth saving this information Well ahead of your. The app has been developed so hopefully I can publish it out to many systems. But for Iphone I would still need to get a mac, and sign up to there plan.. I'm in no hurry to do this just yet (epically while the app is in testing and needs alot more features!) Blackberry should be easier but I need to research it and see how hard it will be, and if it will cost me etc! anyone knows much then do let me know!
Nice app! I've always taken my cards down on paper.. Never actually thought of checking the market.. I agree with an above poster though.. A way to record landed/missed punches would be nice, but definitely not complaining!
