    Cleverly just hasn't been the same mentally since the Kovalev mauling. If ever a loss ruined a fighter that one certainly seems to have done so to him. If he's got his confidence back for this one, even if only to 70 or 80% of what it once was, I think he stands a good chance. The fact that it's in Chicago is a big advantage for Fonfara though, especially if Cleverly is still lacking self-belief.

    Other than him taking steroids I like Fonfara. I admire his grit and moxie. He also made me laugh when he called Adonis a ''motherf__ker'' at the final bell of their fight. That said, he struggled badly against Karpency (although I'm informed he broke his hand in that one), and in his next outing Campillo was boxing his ears off before he clipped him in the 9th.

    He also struggled against Doudou Ngumbu the following year too. Granted when he actually started to heed his trainer's advice and fire off in 2s, 3s and 4s he caused Stevenson real problems, although it took him about 7 or 8 rounds to do so. Adonis looked seriously worried at times after that point, most noticeably during the 9th and 12th rounds IIRC.

    Beating Chavez is a decent win but let's not forget that much of Chavez's success can be attributed to him being much bigger than the vast majority of opponents. When Chavez finally fought someone his own size or bigger he got dealt with. Journeyman Brian Vera paddled his ass a couple of fights prior to that and I have no doubt Cleverly would've done so even worse had he fought Chavez too.

    Kovalev took Cleverly's heart and soul that night. He is completely ruined and will do well to see the final bell in this fight.

    Would anybody else be interested in a Fonfara vs Stevenson rematch? I think that would be a decent fight.

    Rooting for Cleverly, at his best he can easily out point Fonfara. Idk where he's at mentally, but he certainly is capable of beating him

    Cleverly looked almost shot to me against Bellew. I'm not sure if he still has it.

    Yeah he did, apparently he was injured or something, idk

    He's looked bad ever since the Kovalev loss, but Fonfara isn't anything special himself

    Clev needs to box, move and stay off the ropes. Otherwise Fonfara will win.

    I'm nearly there, I can't believe I'm still awake, I've survived my wife talking AT me all evening without falling in to a coma.

    It was really interesting stuff too, like what her day at work was like and what she wants to buy when we go out shopping tomorrow.

    FFS I nearly feel asleep just typing that....


    I hope the action is good tonight, nothing worse than struggling to the early hours to watch a s****py hug fest or a clash of heads that ends it.

    Yeah, it was a really interesting move.

    squared up as Chavez bulled in, threw a little left hook to create space and then raised his right shoulder, slipped out the side door that Chavez didn't close up. Then threw another left from the southpaw stance while Jr. was reseting. really leveraged the hell out of it too.

    Fonfara Cleverly should have been a draw, he was losing the fight until he busted Cleverly's nose and even then Clev stole quite a few of the latter rounds.

    He just landed 474 punches on Clev a record (Clev landed 462 in him) and didn't put Nathan down once Kovalev had him down 4 times. Yet Fonfara dropped Stevenson.:rofl

    Close fight in terms of punches but Fonfara just had the better punches and did more damage. Clev had slightly the fresher and snappier punches and combos to begin the fight but these just dropped sharply after the 5th rounds when Fonfara simply out gunned his opponent. Fonfara took most of the rounds after 6 and almost had Clev out in a few of the latter rounds. Quality decision win that will benefit both fighters.
