Dont be an ignorant hater. He said he would, but he didn't because Lewis retired and left WBC, a more prestigious belt at the time, vacant. So he decided to fight Vitaliy for it instead of fighting a guy whom he easily beat.

No excuses, it is how it is.

Andy Lee does very well tonight perfect fight for him. :good

Steward said the right things in the corner, he pushes if it is necessary.

Steward is one of the best trainers ever.

...and apparently they're BFF's, whereas Steward seems to dislike a lot of the guys he works with. :yep

Great to see a fighter seek out his personal redemption. Andy is going to be a serious force in the middleweight division.

If Steward has mellowed, he is one of the best. He does get you in shape. His offensive strategies used to be very poorous though.

Redemption over business decisions. Amir Khan is not the first or last to make a business decision over redemption. History is filled with these guys. Judgement day will come!

True. Lee displayed the heart of greats like Lennox Lewis in taking this fight.

Its like I've always said Lee fighting off a southpaw jab is critical and most vital to his success. There is no other way around it. I was very impressed Lee looked like a man possessed, but then Vera as courageous as he is hes as crude as they come, but Lee won an important fight and proved hes improved and not the same fighter 3yrs ago, but better. Last round he did alittle Erik Morales, but hope he doesnt do that **** again to risk a fight that way especially one hes winning.

This is how the first fight with Vera should have went for Lee, but he took Vera for granted then and probably bought into some of the hype that Steward was spewing. Lee wasn't exactly taking a huge risk by rematching Vera. However, it was a much improved performance from Lee and plants him firmly in the top 10 or 15 at 160. He's probably in line for a shot at Chavez jnr who I would expect Lee to beat.

To be fair to pacquaio and Martinez:

Pacquiao was knocked out by two unknowns when he was unknown, no one at the time could have gave a crap about rematches and if he'd rematched them laster they would have been mis-matches.

Martinez was knocked out by Margarito who both at the time were unknown, soon Margarito had worked himself to the top or near to of the rankings and would have felt no need to fight Martinez because A) he had already beaten him and B) Martinez didn't offer anything to the table draw wise. Since then they have reversed roles and never really passed in the middle due to handwrap scandal
