Andy Lee getting carried away with himself

Precisely right, Ripper. It raises questions about Lee's power at world level. And given that Quillin dropped Lee twice, it's safe to say Lee's chin is hardly wrought iron.

In your opinion, who would you say hits harder: Andy Lee, or Spike O'Sullivan?

O'Sullivan has really only KO'd bums... although did destroy Fitzgerald who Lee went the distance with.

Lee though has at least got KO wins over two fringe world level fighters.

I still think Spike could make an impact at European level. He would certainly smash Buglioni, who has a face-first defence.

 

Great points. I see it pretty much the same, but think Billy actually has enough pop on his shots to hurt Andy a little bit.

 

Boxing apart, Andy Lee sounds like a smart and interesting fellow.

Very interesting and insightful article, JWP. Andy Lee seems to have had an incredible journey thus far. I would very much like an Andy Lee biography to be written sometime -- possibly by Donald McRae (one of my favourite authors on boxing).

Agree with all of that my friend, and not having the fear for BJS maybe his downfall. Ali's fear in fighting Sonny Liston made him special that night, that's why I think Lee loses tonight, despite me liking the fellow.

Knowing ******, possibly an easy voluntary (like Liam Smith had), and then a rematch with Eubank Jr.

 

Don't see BJS giving Eubank a pay day.

No doubt that he'd love to shut him up, but the genuine dislike would prevent him giving Eubank a title shot and earner.

 

Would Billy Joe think differently if Chris Jr brought a World title to the table?

Granted, that's a big if; Chris Eubank beating Daniel Jacobs is far from a foregone conclusion.

How do you see the Eubank Jr - Blackwell fight going?

 

With a strap Eubank would certainly get attention from Saunders.

Jacobs isn't the best at the weight, but he's light years ahead of Eubank.

I think Blackwell will give Eubank plenty to think about.

Eubank fans were annoying, but since Spike " who bet on himself " quitting last week, they've become unbearable.
