YAWN Late Emmanuel Stewart did not think Lee was a very average boxer, but then again...what does he know compared to you?
Exactly Manny stated that Lee was his greatest prospect and when you consider who's been through the doors of the Kronk Gym that's high praise. Lee fulfilled Manny's prophecy that he would be world champ and if he beats GGG at some stage he would truely be fulfilling the potential that Manny saw of him becoming a great.
Lee is a good middleweight. Has good size and power along with his southpaw stance. He has a lot of experience and some skill to him. Still, he's not beating Golovkin. Lee might be a good middleweight but its going to take a special one to beat Golovkin. Would be a fun fight but Golovkin would be a big favorite. Its a lot like the Lemieux fight. Fun fight while it lasts but you know going in who's going to win. I do think Lee gives Golovkin a bit more trouble than Lemieux does though.
GiGi will not fight Lee. If the fight is forced K2 will probably offer Lee a 20% split and make the fight in Russia to get out of it.
I don't see anyone at 160 being a threat to GGG. In order to find one you'd have to look beyond the boundaries of that weight class.
The point is that Lee caught Korobov while Uz...gui didn't. Also, the guy demolished by U has a glass chin.
I remember that when Lee was selected to fight Golovkin in the spring of 2014, everybody was disappointed. He is still the same fighter. He just managed to catch two careless fighters with his hooks and then was allowed to survive by cowardly Quillin.
No offence to Manny but he got it wrong about Andy. It wasn't until he dropped the Manny Stewart way of thinking that he actually reached his full potential, as seen by his title win. So yeah Manny is a legend and all, but he doesn't know everything :yep
I'm from limerick. I would even have hung out on the same circles as Andy in my teens, but that Vera stoppage wasn't "scandalous" Most refs would have stopped it even eatlier
