Andy Lee on the dreaded RTE Live player tonight

Cant believe Andy fell apart like that in the end after controlling the first 8 and a half rounds... Lee won, but ffs if that was a 12 rounder Lee would have been in trouble..

 

Someone answer me this, how can Lee not have improved his defence after spending how ever many years in the Kronk Gym. I can't get my head round it. He does the same stupid things in almost every fight. Its not like he hasn't got skills or a boxing brain. I just don't understand it.

I'd say Macklin would love to fight him

:good The french fella seemed a top man. Lee was the same two real nice guys.

Lee's defence has to improve some time it really is terrible. He is terrible at tying up as well. Great 8 rounds for Lee the last two were terrible to easy to hit.

 

Lees defence is a joke how he cant seem to tie up a boxer when he is in troble is a huge fear of mine for Lee if he is to go all the way. Macklin and Duddy would all destroy Lee at the moment because of his defence. Has all the skills but if he is on the back foot he is careless at times and gets tagged too easy. Good nights work for Lee would love to see him step up and fight a top 10 fighter to see how he is with the step up to that level they would be mad to put him in with big punchers at the moment.

 

Macklin would destroy Lee as soon as he gets hurt he panics a bit like Bruno did.

The stream was first class - just shows you what it is usually like if half of Thailand isnt on its back

 

Andy had a ropey last round, I think he just gassed out a bit as he was doing al the work in the fight.
Up until then though I was impressed with Lee, his big awkward style was giving the wee frenchman fits. I wouldnt write him off just cos of one bad round, but when Andy Lee does a bad round, he REALLY DOES a bad round!

I could be wrong but he gives me the impression of a guy who fights because he's good at it rather than someone who loves the game.He goes to pieces when hit with a good shot and for someone with the tools he has seems reluctant to let his hands go.In a way he reminds me of Audley in that he can box but not fight if that makes sense.

I do not want to come accross as a hater as he seems like a good guy & has talent but something is missing.

 

I liked the new holding the jab in the guys face like lennox's used to do great. if he can get a cracking straight left to come behind it would be great more fighters with good jabs should do this
