Golovkin has fought better competition up to this point in the pro ranks and KOed alot names (Lee, Bute) in the amateurs - I think that it's harder to KO somebody in the amateurs than at pro level... Btw, I'm one of a small group who have seen both fighters on several occasions - not like your hypsters...
Daniels was washed up and done far before the fight with Lee...just look at boxrec who's ranked higher...
Andy Lee has potential. I think I've seen him twice, and was impressed both times. However, we are still just talking about a guy who has shown potential against tomato cans. Don't take me wrong. If I was handling him, tomato cans and cab drivers is all I would have put in front of him up to this point. However, I'm interested in seeing what happens when he goes against some known "B" and "C" level fighters. His last 6 opponents had a combined 36 losses. I'm reserving judgement on Lee until I see him fight someone who can bang, and then a slick boxer. Let's see how he responds to flush shots from a real threat, and how he responds to a boxing lesson. I do hope he turns out to be the real thing, because that means one more victim for Kelly Pavlik. Boo
I think he is good, very promising but Im not going to say he is any where near the best prospect at middle just yet. He needs to step up.
I think its a little more harder than that mate. Kelly has been in with some guys who can box. You gotta be busy, defensively very sound and be prepared to go through hell to win, all of which Lee is yet to prove against anyone remotely like Pavlik. Its going to take a pretty decent fighter to knock the Pav off.
Golovkin has never even left his backyard,eh? Haha! Obviously you have no clue what you are talking about! Golovkin has moved to Germany and fights out of Germany now.He has moved thousands of miles to a totally foreign country. The same cant be said about Lee whose move from Ireland to the USA isnt such a big one. There is no big difference between the USA,England,Australia, and all those other english speaking countries, but there is a huge gap between Germany and Kazahkstan. Besides our fellow poster tom is right in saying that Golovkin has faced better opposition than Lee up to now.
But Germany isnt his backyard, mate! He has no fan support there+he is totally unknown there. Germany isnt his backyard,at least not yet. Besides Germany is one of the most important box markets on this little planet. No need to travel over to the USA to showcase his skills there. As far as I know Lee hasnt travelled to Germany either. He hasnt left his english speaking backyard either.
Lee has boxed twice in germany 2 stoppage victories.Golovkin is very good too lets not get bogged down in whos better its good we have such good up and coming middle weights i really see a golden age coming. PS Lee never boxed golovkin as aamateur but they were in alot of competiitons together and he def wasnt ko ed by him andy was never even knocked down as a senior boxer by anyone and he fought the worlds best.
