That's funny, I'd actually forgot what started this debate... Andy Lee got smashed. It is sad though.
Lee didnt get KTFO OR smashed You can say he was hut but was a bad stoppage I come to the Brit forum to get useful info and good decent debate and sensible talke but it seems a few muppets are ruining it and turning it into the General style forum
Having seen Duddy v Smichet, Andy Lee's last 3 bouts, and Macklin v Campas. None of these deserve to be champions. Duddy has little to no skill, slightly better than a punch bag. Andy Lee does not know how to fight in close or tie up and opponent, Macklin is just plain ordinary. It will have to be a very poor middleweight division for any of these to become champions !!!
For those who haven't seen, you might as well watch . . . [YT]AwOGf8Ti1A4[/YT] No doubt Lee was on the road to gettin' his block knocked clean off!
Darren Sutherland will make a very good pro middleweight in the near future . The Olympics(should he make it there) will be his last involvement as an amateur and I think his style will be perfect for the pro game . I could see him getting to European level at least . So while all of Duddy , Macklin , Lee and Sutherland mightn't turn out to be World beaters , surely one of them will do something..............I hope
Sutherland is running out of time for the Olympics I saw him at the Nationals and wasnt overly impressd with him but he could be a completely different fighter at pro We live in hope of a Jim Rock return
Not really , he only lost by a point(on the buzzer) to James De Gale in the last qualifiers in Italy . De Gale went on the win the silver medal at that tournament(he might have won gold if he had contested the final) . Sutherland will be favoured to win a medal in Greece(gold , silver and bronze all make the olympics at middle in the European qualifiers) . I'm not saying it'll definitely happen but it looks like Sutherland will make the Olympics . I don't reckon he'll do much there though , he'll be much better suited to the pros .
