Andy Lee v. Brian Vera II

I agree entirely. I'm sure the return will be a completly different fight, with Lee boxing the ears of Vera.

There should be a rematch regardless of the legitimacy of the stoppage IMO. It's risky for Lee, but it's the best way to get his train rolling again right away.

 

Yeah - I thought is was a bad stoppage too.

But if the fight would have been stopped maybe 10 - 15 seconds ealier - there would have been no problem with that. But to stop the fight during an exchange is crazy.

 

Sometimes the stoppage of a fight appears to be badly timed, but just fighting back isn't always a good enough reason to keep the bout going. Lee was taking a lot of hurtful looking head shots , while Andys counter punches didn't have a whole lot of effect on Vera. Bottom line is Lee had taken enough clean head shots, wasn't getting any better, and lives to fight another day.

 

Bottom line is andy got caught cold and drawn into a slugfest instead of useing his head and boxing this guy. Lee to give vera a boxing lesson if a rematch happens....

The Andy Lee Express is going to arrive a lot later than Manny Steward's schedule. Lee's stamina, defense and ring generalship all looked bad in this fight.

He might evolve into a more complete fighter but this might also be an indicator of Lee's real talent level.

 

ONCE Vera connects Lee will retreat and it will be the same results.

Vera is the better fighter and also much stronger.
If they fight again, it will be the same result, but much quicker.

 

I think Lee will beat Vera in the rematch he'll learn from his mistakes and listen to Manny this time around.

 

Dan Rafael of ESPN is saying that there is already talk of a rematch in July back on ESPN

 

Watch the end of the fight again, the ref was told to stop the fight by some guy sitting ringside. About 10 seconds before he stopped the fight, he looked at someone ringside and the guy said "stop the fight". Watch it.

 

But surley its up top the ref to decide?,who was this guy,if thats true that could give lee cause to say it was a fix,or he was cheated,if thats true thats just ****ing silly,the refs closest to them both,he should make up his own mind and live with the consequences
