Andy Lee v Felix Sturm

Strurm for me either had one or 2 sitations in the macklin fight.
1 - Either he underesimated Macklin/Murray and then went up a gear in the last couple of rounds or

2 - He is starting to fade.

Thing is though - I really thought he went up a gear against Macklin at the end of the fight. Had he started his late rally a ruound or 2 earlier I wonder how much he would have hurt Mack. Sturm has power and is still dangerouse. Lee for me hits much more accurately and powerfully than Macklin and Murray but the Lee that showed up against Vera (rematch) is the one that will win this. Sturm against the Lee that fought McEwan will win. Lee has the ability though.

 

Horrible style match-up for the German, who will be forced to do all chasing in this one, which doesn't suit him. I can see Lee outpointing him handily in pretty much the same way he outpointed Belghecham (without the late drama, hopefully), who has a similar high guard/low punch output style. If Lee stays disciplined and keeps behind the jab, I think he wins this all day long, regardless of the location.

 

Good matchup.

I reckon Lee can do him in this one.

I thought the Sturm-Macklin fight was a draw and I thought the Murray fight was a clear Sturm win.

Andy hasnt fought since early October though, i wonder will that inactivity hinder him going into this fight? I mean its pretty much a 7 month gap!

 

Lee to lose on points, despite deserving the victory.

I can't envisage Lee stopping him. Sturm is strong and I don't think Lee has massive KO power. The judges would decide this one, which is not good news for Andy Lee.

 

i think lee gets caught to easy,and is a bit upright ,if sturm is on the ball lee gets stopped

 

Any update on this proposed fight????
