I was just thinking the same thing.

Eastman just lost to Duddy - so why have Lee fight a Duddy victim?

If Manny thinks he's ready for Pavlik and can beat any Middleweight out there - why not really set up his competition - instead of fighting an old Eastman.

come on, just cause manny says he is ready for pavlik......it dont mean that he is!!!!

manny (like most boxing people) knows how to talk up a guy and get him some ink.

this would be a great fight that would get lee into fringe contention......top 15 maybe.
and if he somehow could pull off a stoppage........that would really be a statement for the devision.

I think Eastman is perfect foe for Lee at this point tough but not to tough, lets not forget Lee has been fighting club only fighters at this point he should fight a med level guy like Eastman before steps up to contenders. Eastman has a good punch, good boxing skills and a very good chin and just give top contender Duddy a tough fight if Lee can beat Eastman or stop him it really show were Lee is at.
After Eastman Lee can step up to fight top guys like
    # 1 David Lopez
    # 2 Marco Rubio
    # 3 Raymond Joval
    # 4 Raul Marquez
    # 5 Enrigue Omelas

Lopez and Rubio are real good opponents for Lee because there both tall like Pavlik
I think after beating these guys Lee would be ready for a title shot:good

yea ive heard the same thing, this would be a great fight for lee at the minute and i think he'd get past him in more impressive fashion than duddy,we have to remember lee's only a prospect at this point and this fight would work wonders for making him much more than that, eastmans still a top 25 fighter and if Lee could ko him it would send shivers through the MW division.

yea and mannys trying to just make noise about his top prospect who dominated cintron, taylor and hung with wlad in sparring.2008 is a huge year for lee,by next december we'll know if hes a world class or just very good, which imo would still win him a belt.

Eastman might not be a journeyman, but he is dangerously close to being just an opponent. He's 37 and he's lost 5 of his past 7 fights. He's had a good career, but if Duddy beat him, I think Lee would knock him out.

If it happens, its easy work for Lee. he's the real deal. Emmanuel always liked him better than Taylor.:smoke :smoke

dont think eastman would be an 'easy' fight for anyone but most contenders/top prospects should be beating him convincingly. i felt duddy was very strong in the early rounds and had a solid lead and he let off in the later rounds.he'd be a great test for lee and definatly the toughest of his short career.

Duddy is no Lee. True, it's its his toughest test thus far but he would leap that hurdle easily. Eastman is a fading fighter.:rofl:rofl
