This fight had been scheduled back in 2011 on a Sergio Martinez undercard. Duddy retired before the fight and Lee fought McEwan instead in what was the fight of the night. If the fight had happened as scheduled how do you guys see it going? Keeping in mind that this version of Lee was Emmanuel Stewart-less and seemed out of sorts half of the fight.
Whether it's early or late, at some point in the fight Lee catches Duddy just right, and he becomes a life time member of the Andy Lee highlight reel.
Yeah that seems the likely end result. Duddy's defense of stopping punches with his face would probably get him stopped, though he could take a powerful a$$whooping. Before he gets stopped I see Duddy hurting Lee a few times and making it a fun watch. Had tickets to that fight night and felt cheated when the fight fell through (that feeling didnt last long as the replacement fight delivered more than expected)
John Duddy.Irish middleweight hyped to hell and back to be a challenger for Pavlik. Had no defense, a good chin, and above average power. Constantly in a tear up with middling opposition.
I always remember the way Duddy struggled with a crude Medina in front of 50,000 fans at Cowboy stadium on the undercard of a big fight. He could take some serious punishment. But Lee would've gotten to him sooner or later.
