He was advised to turn the fight down so they can air it on NBC. I believe.

    Advertising, packed out MSG,Investors.

Im sure Haymon isnt paying 20 million for these slots for the love of the sport.

(...Id be surprised Peterson makes anything like 3 million as well)

I doubt that Garcia and Peterson will get that much each for a non title fight, Quillin is probably getting paid less than Lee as well.

Winnable fight for Lee although its a real 50/50 I reckon who ever lands big first wins .

    Frankly, I couldnt care less.

As long as the fights get made, I simply dont care.

Its not like anyone here going to be making any money off the event anyway.

As for the investors, Im sure they wouldnt have given Haymon one penny if he hadnt given them very good reason to believe that they'd make a tidy profit.

Billy Joe would also have to be paid step aside money.

I hope Lee pans him out. I'll be sickened if Quillin gets the title back. He'll just vacate it again , cos no way he'll ever fight GGG.

    Disappointed???

Hes making good money! What to be disappointed about?

Its a complete farce to fight an undefeated fighter, who held a title and who gave up his belt?

Would it have been less of a farce if he had fought Nielsen for less money??

If they can get 10k in Barclays with average ticket price of 200, thats a couple mil right there. I can see why they wanted this fight, Garcia-Peterson was a "meh" fight - but Quillin-Lee WILL sell tickets in Brooklyn. Kind of amazed this fight not the main event. Will be interesting to see what the ticket prices are.

Making another couple million in ads across a couple hours of primetime programming is not impossible either, plus sponsorships.

    Maybe he will!

I couldnt care less! He can burn their money in a fire as long as he gets the fights made as far as im concerned

Why do you care about the business mechanisations of a group of people that you will never know??

And also, how on earth do we know what those investors agreed to? No one on this forum was in the room when those papers were signed.

Where you up in arms when it was rumoured to be Patrick Nielsen??

An inferior fighter who would have made Andy less money?
