Yeah it was a bit premature, wouldn't have made any difference in the end because Korobov was done, but he should have been give a few extra seconds.

 

While it looked like Korobov could've kept going, he'd eaten a monster right hook and several clean follow up shots while throwing nothing back. In the refs shoes, a foot away from the action, I can't blame him.

Korobov should've just taken the knee if he had his senses about him. He's too experienced not to know better.

 

Koborov brought that on himself but not reacting by taking a knee or hitting back. The stoppage was fair

 

So an Irish man knocks out a Russian and the Americans get all warm in side.

 

You can't make this up! It was a good fight, 2 guys in top 10 fought each other, people still got something negative to say.

Right, and he wasn't facing a big puncher, so he had a chance. Lee's decent enough. This is a great win for him.

 

Is that generally the case? I like EE fighters, but Im American. I also felt happy for Andy, as it is hard not to like/appreciate that kid.

 

Yeah, like away, he's a great guy and deserves it.

I was more talking about the anti EE brigade who seem to think Andy beating Koborov is some kind of moral victory.

 

I see a couple of things Korobov and Jackson had in common when they fought Lee; both of them had Lee hurt and both of them didn't see Lee's right hook that flattened them.

 

I agree with this. Also when the ref separated them to wave it off, he did not look steady and his eyes seemed glazed still for almost 5 seconds.

Personally, I look mostly at the fighter's eyes and legs when there is a stoppage like this. If their eyes are clear and they have their balance I call BS because they probably were just letting the other guy punch himself out. In this case, Korobov wasnt all there - so in my eyes it was legit.

Props to Lee, I favored Korobov to pick up the W but I'm glad Lee got it. He was able to step it up when it counted, and now has a title.:good
