Any thought on the fight that just ended? I wasn't as impressed as i was earlier in his career. The rabbit punch was brutal and calculated, Sam Peter style...and the last KD he was hitting him a few times while he was already on one knee. Really kinda bothered me.
Yeah, that was a tough one to guage by. That 'lil dude he was fighting was just runnin like crazy from the first bell. It's high time they give him some real competition and not WW's brought up to get killed. Did you hear Steward saying he's in negotiations with Arum to put Lee in with Pavlik by the end of 08?? Lee better at least beat up some top 50 type guys first.
Lee didn't look good tonight. That guy in there with him was a joke. After his last fight, didn't Manny Steward say Lee was ready for Pavlik? Pavlik would murder Lee. Manny had better get his fighter about five more fights against quality opponents before he puts him in there with Pavlik.
Lee looks ferocious as hell, but he's been in with nothing but rusty bottom of the barrel tomato cans thus far. He may damn well be the real deal, he sure looks the part, but he should be stepping up the comp. a bit by now esp. talking of taking on title shots.
i don't like fighters using the rabbit punch because it can be a dangerous punch to a fighter's health. but, i can also see why some fighters use this punch. when he blatantly fouled by hitting his opponent twice with that punch, the argentinian stopped ducking so far over at the waist. i guess andy thought it might stop that particular tactic and it seemed to do so. but again, i don't like fighters using that punch.
Don't know if you caught the interview with Steward at the end, but he said he's in negotiations to put Lee in with Pavlik by Sept. 08!!!!
Especially if Manny Steward wants him to fight Pavlik as soon as he claims. A journeyman with a name to him wouldn't hurt.
the other dude was running away!!! andy was doing all he could to fight and land punches; it gets frustrating when you have to chase, so i don't blame hime for teeing off when the **** finally was stationary. that argentine was a *****!! came all the way to ireland for that feminine display???? andy was unable to display his skills, so it is harsh to judge his performance as a negative one.
No doubt. I said in my first post on this thread there's no way to guage Lee's performance tonight because the opponent was such a very SMALL *****. It's time to put him in with contenders or atleast top 20 type guys if he wants to be calling out the recognized MW Champion.
Boxrec has him fighting Brian Vera next month. Good measuring stick. Codrington KO'ed him in 2, what does Lee do? :think
