Yes because he spent most of his time giving advice to fighters on the card....and maybe punch drunk as well. :bbb

In my humble opinion I think Barry Michael does a terrrific job.. He obviously knows what the sport is about and can give some insight into possible tactics. As for Jason Dunstall commentating on boxing.. I think that is more of a disgrace. He comes across as so cocky and condesending.. get rid of him I say.

I don't mind Fenech as special comments.. I find him to be pretty accurate when he wants to be.

What do you guys think of the pair that do the kickfights and all that stuff, Michael Schiavello and Mark Castagnini. I like Schiavello, is pretty entertaining albeit probably at the expense of accuracy. Dont have much of an opinion on Castagnini, he seems more geared for the subtle stuff that as a casual observer of kickfights are over my head.

Schiavello can make the most boring fight ever seem half decent.
I enjoy him & Castagnini has as much charisma as a piece of sliced bread.

its the ring announcer who should be shot...

    Danny "The Mean Machine" Green
    Danny "The Green Machine" Mean

I mean seriously, it was as bad as Daryl Beattie's Billy "The Dib" Kid!

Yeah Matthew Campbell the ring announcer was atrocious last night calling both Ryan Waters & Tui Leveni former australian light heavyweight champs when they are former australian junior middleweight champs.

    Danny "The Mean Machine" Green
Danny "The Green Machine" Mean

Seriously tho he needs to be gotten rid of immediately.

Andy Raymond was not the greatest last night with that to become a legend you must beat a legend line, but otherwise i guess he is passable just.:yep
I think we all compare Raymond too much to the US HBO/Showtime crew or British Sky Sports commentators which are just so much more professional in their delivery.

The only professional thing about Australian boxing commentary is when Paul Briggs is on making educated knowledgeable insights. The rest of them are like the average sports fan who know hardly anything.

I couldn't believe the commentary in the Waters/Levini fight. Sure it was close but Waters was gassed and really struggling in all rounds. Yet they all said Waters just keeps coming and his fitness is excellent, he's controlling the fight blah blah.

It couldn't have been further from the truth. Not saying Waters wasn't in front on the cards (very close fight), but the way they described the action and how it was unfolding was way off. All three of them.

BTW...I had a money on a Waters victory.

I disagree with all of you Andy Raymond is a good comintater and he also is a fan of boxing which makes it even better of course they can have good nights and bad nights! But i couldnt think of anybody who could do his job any better he is there as a commentator and they have the former champs as in Briggs and Barry to give there expert advise i think Fox have got it right! Spink!
