I'll say it again Hearn is playing in the big boy leagues and he isn't a big boy, this isn't the uk or europe when he can bulldoze other promoters and fighters and dictate terms etc

Hearn will be licking his lips together. It’s another prime time show for DAZN.

Hearn will have to cave in a bit I would have thought regarding the location, otherwise it could be a long drawn out court process.

Maybe not but America is the land to sue di.eo as arse if they breach a contract, so if I was Ruiz I would meet my contractual obligations at all costs.

Just watched this again today, and to be honest he didn't look great, if you watch before the first bell goes when Ruiz is stretching AJ looks at him and looks totally gutted he is in there.

Also the business with the gumshield etc, he looked to me like Gerald McClellan after he got hurt, blinking pushing the gumshield out taking in air trying to focus his sight etc etc.

This guy should not have been in any ring that night.

Absolutely mate - it is amazing what we don't see the first time we watch.

Thought at one stage he got a chiropractic adjustment to the neck.

I watched the Povetkin fight again, and watched the Ruiz and Nistor fights too, recently. Povetkin was causing him so much trouble for the first 4 rounds. Joshua could not deal with the mobility and angles that Povetkin was coming at him. He was seriously gassing after that but he’s 39 so no surprise. Joshua’s feet are very slow, he could not step out of trouble. Nistor did exactly the same to him, Joshua was going back in straight lines and not fast enough either. His only defence is to hold his gloves at the side of his head because he cannot get himself out of trouble. Ruiz did exactly the same to him.

We should not excuse this defeat and put it down to him not looking right or whatever. He is very good against similarly tall, upright fighters. However, fighters with very good footwork (something that the smaller heavyweights need to get inside) are a nightmare for him. It isn’t the stature as such, it’s the footwork.

Joshua is one of the best fighters in the world, but his feet are too slow/static and he can’t switch angles. He’s way way too stiff, lads.

Have a look at Joshua from when he begins his ringwalk to the sound of the first bell - forget the rest just focus solely on him.

It is amazing what you will pick up - should never have been in a ring that night.

Also looked fine before the counter hook caught him in the ring. There was definitely nothing wrong with him.

He was displaying clear signs of lethargy, anxiety and there was numerous visible signs of something badly wrong with the jaw and neck.

Think it was when Ruiz was being introduced that someone was behind him doing some serious adjustment to the neck and it was not simply a massage.
