Ive been assessing this fight for a hours and in my head, Andy Ruiz has basically no advantages over Joshua Parker, He may have the faster hand speed, But Parker himself is also very quick, He has okay power, but parker hits harder. Parker doesnt have stamina issues as one may suggest, he was just fighting a very tough and energetic Carlos Takam, and still got the win, Id favour Takam over Ruiz. And now ive seen Ruiz' dramatic weight loss, i can see him flagging early doors and with very little strength to bully The sturdy and Robust Joshua Parker - a legit inshape strong heavyweight.

It also jumps out to you that Andy 'Destroyer' Ruiz, is not a destroyer at all, having been unable to take out shot journeymen with bad chins, like Liakovich and Zumbano Love. He was also struggling with Tor glass heart Hammer before the quitjob threw in the towel.

No, I believe Andy has talent, hes a crisp combo puncher, but hes not a quick mover, and Parker has a good good jab. But theres nothing to suggest he can beat Joseph Parker.

I expect a late round stoppage for Parker round 8-10, ruiz is savvy but will be drained, weak and unable to hurt parker.

That's how I've felt since it was announced. I'm not sure where Ruiz gets his hype from. After Parker stops Ruiz Takam will still be the best fighter on his resume.

The hype came from how he looked early on. People saw the quick hands and him KOing low level journeymen early on and people thought wow wait until this kid loses all the extra weight and improves. But 7 years on from his pro debut and his weight is still an issue and it's prevented him from improving as he should have.

I don't rate him, Parker shouldn't have too much difficulty dispatching him.

Yep, will be too big a task for him... Parker is the heavy favorite here, and even if Ruiz turns up at his peak, it's hard to imagine the scale will tip in his favor.

Parker gassed hard in that Takam fight. Even though I don't rate Ruiz high, gassing like that makes Parker vulnerable. I imagine Parker will manage pace better this time.

    I agree.

Ruiz looks good early in the fights, but then he gasses and loses power in his punches.

His best fight was KO over Joe Hanks but that was 3.5 years ago.

Ruiz jr looked pretty bad vs shot Lyakhovich, especially in the late rounds.

He hurt Zumbano Love badly and almost KO'd him in round 2, but then gassed and had to fight full fight.

Ruiz would be competitive early, but quits in the later rounds. Parker has better stamina, and he's taller fighter with longer reach.

Although I expect Parker to win a decision I still think he is highly overrated. If Ruiz can catch him flush with a left hook anything is possible, since Parker is really stiff and stands straight up too much.

I think he over trained for that fight, he had a 14 week training camp and that may have effected his stamina and even if he still has stamina issues, Ruiz Jr isn't the fighter to test it. Parker may have his hands full early but as we've seen in other fights Ruiz Jr will fade badly and that's when Parker can basically fight at his own pace.

Definitely. Parker has fought hard in the late rounds against people before, I think his general mindset/pace were not perfectly on for Takam and he had over-trained. In saying that, he is coming off a VERY busy year this year vs a very fresh Ruiz. Lots of swings and roundabouts in this fight but Ruiz keeps going on about "everyone are under-estimating me in this fight" but actually, I think him and his team are playing down Parker quite a lot. It'd be ironic if they go in underestimating what they are going to face.

I think Parker is better but Ruiz carries threat, certainly more threat than Molina.

Don't underestimate my boy ruiz, he's the truth. I agree though, he's been looking not so great, but that's due to him fighting down to his comp. A lot has gone on in his life, and now he's focused and ready to give it his all !!!

Pretty evenly matched fight as far as I can see. Parker gets a ton more hype but is he really that much better than Ruiz?

No he's not. Andy is being heavily underrated though. This isn't a body building contest, and Andy has what it takes in the skills department to beat parker
