I must say I was impressed with Ruiz. Okay he beat on a washed up Dimitrenko, but he's got some serious and nasty to his game, regardless of his physical appearance. My hunch is he's durable as well. As such I think he's make a fine sub in for Joshua on 6 weeks notice. Thoughts?
He's a good fighter who can contend again. I think Michael Hunter Jr is a better fighter though & poses a bigger threat. I think he's ahead of Andy Ruiz in the queue.
And he just fought. Also as mentioned, flabmaster Ruiz would really hurt the image with AJ. Juxtaposing those two together lol, cannot see it.
Don't care, he's got more fight in him than many of Joshua's opponents did. A fine sub in, I think. Others might be interested because he's Latino. Some might to use a line from a movie, its funny because he's fat if he hits the deck. Not that hard of a sell. Did I mention he could be USA's best heavyweight and the fight is in New York?
I wouldn't be mad, he's got a big personality, a big punch, decent skills, there's a lot worse choices out there.
I think it's a very tough sell. You're talking about a fat somewhat unknown - to casual fans - heavyweight with a loss to a former Joshua victim who since losing to Joshua has gone on to see his stock fall massively with another loss to a fellow Joshua victim. Did I mention he doesn't have one top 30 win? That may even be 50.
The issue with Ruiz is that he'd sell way more in Las Vegas or Los Angeles due to his heritage. Still a decent sub though.
He lost. And Parker has gone on to disappoint whilst he's gone on to score wins over who exactly? He's done nothing of any note since.
He was impressive. Dimentrenko was pathetic. Ruiz strikes me as the guy that would take the fight. He is fast enough to hit Joshua and possibly hurt him. Potentially a very good fight.
