If proven by winning the belts, many would argue whether it was just a lucky win due to AJ's carelessness which I think is very possible. So I still see him in Ortiz/Povetkin/Miller's level. Heck, Andy even lost to Parker who AJ beat, so there's that. Would Parker bash Foreman's brain in?
I would actually love these fights to REALLY happen sometimes. All these fantasy matchups where PRIME Mike Tyson KOs every modern fighters in 1 round and George Foreman annihilates every modern fighter early etc. If these fights somehow would really happen, I think most "hardcore boxing fans" would be pretty...surprised, heh. I think these threads are pointless anyways. Everyone will always pick the 1970-whatever fighter over the 2019 one without thinking how the fight would actually play out. IMO Ruiz´s handspeed would give Foreman big problems. But that is wrong of course, because Foreman will beat him in 1 round, blahblah. Same old **** =) Its shame we will never find out and everyones opinion is as good as any. I just dont understand the bashing of 2019 fighters, never will understand that. In 2040 Joshua, Fury and Wilder will probably beat everyone in that era, then. If boxing fans are not evolved by then, I dont think they are.
This is obviously a spite thread and you know exactly who would win. I'm from the Imperial Valley and have met Andy Ruiz so I'd call myself a fan. He wouldn't last 3 rounds with the Foreman who iced Frazier.
1st: to knock Big George down it needed at least a 2nd World War bomb! Only Alì and Lyle made it! 2nd: big G had got heavy combinations of straight left and right hands (see vs Moorer) and a shot which was a mix between an uppercut and an half hook very powerful that was his trademark (see against Norton, Cooney and others) Ok, he lost some matches for decision like with Morrison and Holyfield but I think against Ruiz he would have won surely for KO or TKO in his prime, maybe for decision in his second.
The only way to to conquer a prime George Foreman is to drag him into the later rounds, Ali accomplished this on Oct 30 1974, in Zaire, Africa, Ali stopped Foreman in round 8, to reclaim the World Heavyweight Title. Jimmy Young out boxed George, on March 17 1977, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, by scoring a unanimous 12 round decision, even decking Foreman in the final round. Andy does not have the height, nor the reach to beat a prime George Foreman. George by TKO 2 Foreman just hits too hard.
Nobody's been able to truly stand toe toe with Ruiz yet. Even Joshua 's destructive power was absorbed by that disgusting blubber. I wouldn't want to see the mighty George Foreman pushed into the donut pit with that gluttonous blob.
