Godfrey back to the ropes again as Ruiz continues the body work. Godfrey holds Ruiz head with both hands and bangs Ruiz head on his shoulders getting a warning from the ref. now Godfrey starts to bounce around the ring not throwing any punches until Ruiz cuts him off and pins him on the ropes again. Godfrey back to the high guard letting Ruiz tee off on him. Ruiz smothers any work Godfrey tries to put together and pounds away.

Although.... You could argue that White Wolf already exposed him. Had he been given time to adequately prepare I think he could have taken it. I had it a draw personally.

 

Godfrey keeps the first minute action in the middle of he ring but doesn't throw anything to bother Ruiz. Ruiz having trouble breaking through Godfrey high hands, but continues to try. A few jabs get through for Godfrey. Ruiz seems to be slowing down. Best round for Godfrey, but that's not saying much.

Ruiz puts a decent combo together and Godfrey backs him off with a right hand. Three punch body combo from Ruiz. Godfrey jabs and gets off the ropes but goes right back. Ruiz gets him on the back of the head the. Attacks the body. Godfrey content with his back on the ropes blocking Ruiz head shots and absorbing the body blows.

Godfrey jabs to the body and circles to his left. Actually stayed off the ropes for the first minute! Eats a hard right from Ruiz and now it's back on the ropes. More jabs and movement from Godfrey as Ruiz slowly follows him around the ring. 4-5 strong punches from Ruiz as Godfrey stops for a few seconds. More heavy shots from Ruiz to close the round
