And what would Andy Ruiz have done then?? Much worse.

Ruiz is a better comobo puncher than Ruddock who started relying too much on his "smash" punch.

And yet, still beat the better fighters. Vernon Forrest did about everything better than Mayorga. How'd that turn out?

He could hang with Tyson. That is enough, although Dokes was arguably a good win

Ruiz literally retired for a movie role. He is crap

If Joe Parker could beat Ruiz, I'm pretty sure Ruddock could have as well.

Ruiz doesn't pack a punch like the guy's Ruddock lost against, and he took a brutal beating in the Tyson rematch but still standing after 12. I think Ruddock would have smashed Ruiz back to Pizza Hut. Ruiz has fast hands but he's still a plodder, I'm not sure that style would bother Ruddock much at all.

Tyson began to slip after firing Rooney, Tyson v Ruddock was sloppy, not much skill on display their rematch was awful.

At that point he still fought at a higher level than Ruiz

Ruddock was the 2nd most feared heavyweight of his day behind Tyson. And for good reason. He was fast, durable and destroyed guys despite relying way too much on the Smash.

Had Ruddock been tested against guys like Tim Witherspoon, Carl Williams, Michael Moorer and Frank Bruno he most likely escapes 4-0. He was shopworn and inactive by the time he faced Tommy Morrison and beats him had they fought closer to 1991-92.

Going 19 harrowing rounds with a still formidable Mike Tyson and absorbing broken ribs and a broken jaw shows me enough. I don't like Ruiz's chances at all in this one.

Ruddock is overrated. He didn't beat anyone. At least Ruiz beat Joshua.

For a newcomer you've been very active lately. I agree w/ you in some topics but I find in bold above puzzling and extreme.

If Ruiz is as you describe him, what does that make AJ? Perhaps I'm forgetting what you think of AJ.

Re Ruiz, he's clearly an above average HW, although likely overrated recently. We need to see him vs. a top 10-15 opponent sooner than later.

aj is a quitter. Ruddock would realistically slug it out with Ruiz and who would blame him ? There isn't much risk, unless you have a glass chin. Ruiz couldn't even finish of the fossil remains of Luis Ortiz, and had to revert on the backpedel when he was getting beat up by ancient Arreola

Honestly, Ruddock could probably outbox him with a simple jab. I'm not even joking
