I think he's into his image and material things too much. He said he could beat Parker or usyk, not sure which one

Yeah. The division can use another marquee name, and Ruiz now has the pedigree, and the Mexican fans on his side. I would like to see him do well, and be ready for the winner of Joshua-Fury.

A part of me doubts that it is going to happen. A heavyweight who turns around a weight problem is about as rare as bigfoot. There are guys on deck that people are excited over, and the division is about to get very crowded. Finally, he may have caught lighting in a bottle in a way that isn't going to happen again. I am not trying to take away form his victory, but it was strange how Joshua just didn't seem to know what to do. That is not going to happen again, and Fury sure as hell isn't going to give him that much.

Still, if he is serious, then absolutely. Welcome back champ. They can make fun of you all they want, but you had hold of the brass ring in a way most people can't dream of.

Some fun facts about planet earth, it rotates because of Andy's enormous belly, not because of gravity.

He's good to watch and on his day can beat anyone not named Tyson Fury. What's not to be excited about him getting in shape and coming back. Who could he not beat when focused. I think he'd savagely KO the likes of Whyte. Who people scream about not getting a shot

When the hell has Ruiz ever been in shape? He might well be able to beat any HW on the planet (I doubt it personally) but he's not going to do so because he is never going to get in shape.

He can enjoy his dwindling millions all he likes, but he burned his bridges with a huge number of fans, and any hate he receives as a result is fully deserved.

Maybe the fact that he's never going to do it?

Excellent post, I'd love to see him beat the odds and get serious, however unlikely it might be, and I'll cheer him on if he shows marked improvement going forward. I wouldn't put any money down on that happening, but it'd be good for the division and the sport if he did. If he manages to stand as a mid level contender in his next few fights and has some good fights, I'll be more than ok with that.

I don't have the same burning hatred for the guy getting caught up in his win that others do, as disappointing as his form was in the Joshua rematch. I'll never know what it's like to have that opportunity and to seemingly have the whole world at one's fingertips. I think most of us would think we would do better and show more discipline in such a situation, or at least hope we would. I don't begrudge anyone their own distaste for wasted potential. It's infuriating thinking of my own missed opportunities in life. But perhaps in part because I still have some gratitude for witnessing his amazing upset victory over Joshua live, when I don't get to go out to see too many big fights, I just can't muster up the same anger.

If he is serious then i would be interested in his progress. He is a live opponent vs any HW, if focused. Otherwise, he is a side-show act.

Anyone else think the first fight with Joshua was fixed?

If the first fight was fixed, then no way would AJ have fought so scared against Ruiz in the second fight. That showed he was knocked out for real the first time. He was bricking it.
