No offense to Ruiz but who has he beat to be fighting for his second world title???
D.Breazele would grind Ruiz out Tko!!!

Ruiz recently said he needs to be at 245 to be at his best. Ruiz then admits he hasn't been at 245 in years.:eatingburger here's the interview:

Hunter would out hustle Andy Butterbean Ruiz. Styles make fights Ruiz is just too flat footed.

AJ is going to Brutalize Ruiz, not professional enough imo

If it is true about him at 245, which I doubt, than there is no excuse for his recent weight and he doesn't deserve the fight.

He isn't someone who should be at the front of a line with plenty of time to plan but with many of the other top players tied up with other things, not willing to take a short camp (or in Ortiz case, not willing to budge with negotiations) the pickings become limited and Andy is more or less the best of the rest. I don't agree with him being a lesser opponent than Breazeale, either. I think Andy would give Breazeale a hell of a fight, well he gave Parker a tough fight and I'd rate Parker to beat Breazeale.

He's never shown up that light before as a professional and he didn't weigh 245lbs when he last fought at the Stub Hub like he says, he was 260lbs for that fight. Suffice to say he's taking this on short notice and will show up in horrible shape, probably around 260lbs and Joshua is going to box him for a few rounds until Ruiz Jr tires and then KO him in the middle rounds, but it might not even go that long.

I was hoping for Hunter, Hunter stopped Ruiz Jr in the amateurs at the World championships, he's clearly the superior of the two.

Ruiz loses weight and he legit has a 15 inch pencil neck. He has no business going in with a roided monster like Joshua.

Ruiz will be in very good shape for Ruiz but that's probably around 255 mark. He's been active and stays in gym even if he doesn't look it.

He shouldn't be anywhere over 250 bc he's about 6'1 and style wise he's going to need that head movement and better footwork from 4 years ago just to stop getting completely dominated.

Three things going for Ruiz .

    1. Joshua will be fighting the shortest guy he's fought so far which could throw him off .

    2. This is also Manny Robbles ( Breazeales former trainer ) vs Joshua 2. It's always helpful having a trainer knowing your opponent.

    3. It's Ruiz second title fight so the event won't overwhelm him.

I probably have a better chance of getting hit by lightning then Ruiz winning , there's just to many things against him and had no plan B if he's forced on the backfoot.

Ruiz needs to push forward and the distance he's giving up on heavy feet isn't going to work at all here , he's going to lunge right into very fast powerful shots..

Could last 5 ? If Joshua stays cautious it could go 8 ?

Ruiz should still be undefeated but I can't see him winning , I barely have him in my own top 20 of late and I'm picking round 6 only bc Ruiz height and knowing Joshua may be cautious against another short fighter.

will ruiz try to win or survive

the parker fight he came to win so i suspect v joshua he will as well

he fought 2 weeks ago so is fight rerady if not body image ready

in ruiz favour parker landed right hands absolutley bang on the button and ruiz never blinked

so although joshua hits a lot harder ruiz does have a good chin
aginst if joshua keeps this long moves when ruiz plods forward that negates all ruiz handspeed which is genuinley fast but being short he needs ti be in the pocket to deliver it.

i think it will be a breaking down process because ruiz is teak tough and joshua will win rounds 7 through 9

I suspect he'll go out on his shield. He doesn't really have the option to box on the back foot as he's too short and too heavy to be mobile enough to avoid Joshua. When Takam tasted Joshua's power he did his best to move and counter, Ruiz Jr can't do that, he'll just likely dig deeper and throw harder if he starts to struggle.

I suspect Ruiz Jr will hang in there for a while. Joshua will box early on then about round 3 will raise the intensity and start to break Ruiz Jr down and stop him in the middle rounds.

Ruiz has never fought at 245 :risas3: what was he babbling about then... At least the interview was authentic.

    Ruiz is undefeated at 246 2-0 (1KO)

Ruiz is making the most of this , and why not . He should hold his head high and for him it's a win win no matter what . Everyone is now looking and talking about him . Fighting in MSG , high payday , he can build off this win , lose or draw . At least he is willing to get in to fight AJ for 4 belts , isn't this what being a HW boxer is about . I hope he makes it a good fight and does his best , can't ask anymore of a man for that . He is finding ways to big himself up and so he should .

Ruiz has already earned my respect for taking the fight and has succeeded where Miller and Ortiz failed . I got AJ to KO him early , very early , but apart of me hopes Ruiz pulls of problems or an upset . Good fights are good for boxing and makes the sport more competitive .

Fyi: amateur stoppages are most of the time total BS. That had zero bearing on who would be a better pro.

I've seen at 260 he throws too many shots for Hunter to be able to truly compete with Ruiz Jr as pros.

Also HOW could you think Ruiz would be "out of shape"??? He just had a camp and a fight, now week off then camp for another 5/6 weeks.

He'll be in the best fight shape he could actually get to

Oh please. I'm not a fan of either. But, to be fair, Ruiz turned 17 one month before he fought Hunter and Ruiz weighed in the 190s. That was EONS ago. Has absolutely no bearing at all on how they'd do against each other today. None.
