Andy Ruiz says nobody wants to fight him, is he the next Bogeyman of Heavyweight division?

Ruiz wasting his career time, so common these days.

Sounds like he wants a 9 digits payday to enter the ring or better just wait for it, but it doesnt work that way. Soon he will become old news and find himself at the end of the line.

Parker, Jarrel Miller and Dillian White are good matchups for him. Winner of Gassiev vs Wallin as well. Michael Hunter, Ajagba, J. Franklin, Kabayel.

Chisora, Charles Martin, are decent options as stay busy fights.

 

Andy Ruiz is the bogeyman of the Hong Kong Buffet. They make no profits at all whenever he visits.

As for boxing, nobody is scared of Gabriel Iglesias' stunt double.

If Andy Ruiz was a woman, she'd be in her mid 30's and complaining that no man wants to date her. However, she only dates men over 6'4" and they have to make at least $500,000 a year.

 

And talks loudly in the theater...

 

Yeah I'm sure Makhmudov is scared to death at the thought of fighting ,,,Andy Ruiz.

 

And she looks like Andy Ruiz in a dress.

 

Ajagba, Makhmudov, Bakole, Anderson, Hrgovic, Sanchez...I'm sure all these guys would welcome a fight with Ruiz. He probably wants 10 million to fight AJ, Wilder or Usyk though.

 

Have heavyweight boxers forgotten that you actually have to FIGHT other boxers to get these massive paydays they all want so much?

 

Ah, I remember the good old days, when top HWs actually fought each other.

 

Shame about Ruiz, he's pretty talented - I wonder what he'd be like back in the day when fighters had to keep a busy schedule - much, much better than he is now I'd wager. And much fitter.

 

Of course nobody wants to fight him. He's too busy chasing the ice cream trucks, ripping the back doors off of 'em looking for the little Haagen Dazs treats to fall out.

He doesn't hardly fight anymore and half the time comes in the ring just too out of shape. Didn't look good against a shot Arreola, did poor against Joshua in the rematch and had trouble with Ortiz who's punch resistance looked pretty shot. He's one of the few heavyweights I think who could redeem himself with a number of interesting fights he could be choosing from. I for one would like to see a trilogy fight with Joshua as they made for an entertaining matchup, but will he do it? I doubt it. He wants big money yet doesn't have the resume to really ask for it.

 

He would still need some level of discipline, though. I get it. At heavyweight, you're going to get some fighters who don't resemble a Greek Adonis and yet still have very good conditioning. Old George Foreman and Alexander Povetkin might not have had the best stamina but it was more than serviceable. Hell, Fedor Emelianenko in mma is another example. You can have a bit of a tire as a heavyweight and still be effective. And genetics definitely play something of a role. But Ruiz isn't just fat. He has to be medically obese. He's almost shaped like a bowling ball.

You're right. He's got fast hands. He has some decent boxing skills at least for this weak heavyweight era. But it's inconceivable that a fighter who's burning thousands of calories on a near daily basis should be looking like that. I think no matter how much he trained or fought, he would always find a way to out eat whatever he burned off. He just seems to have no discipline whatsoever.

 

Dont want to defend him but he was in better looking shape against Arreola and i guess didnt feel strong.

 

He's priced himself out of the sport until some Saudi pays stupid overs his for appearance.

Ruiz already admitted he was thinking about ending his career before the Joshua upset. I think he's happy being semi retired.
