I read some here trying to say Ruiz is better or in the same level as a prime David Tua which I laugh. Some say (Lewis was running away from Tua which is the same as Joshua running away from Ruiz) <<<Huge different considering Tua at his best was alot more dangerous than a 285 Pounds of Ruiz. And Ruiz vs A prime David Tua let's say happen? Ruiz wouldn't last 3 or 2 rounds.
Ruiz would win because he has a jab and height advantage, plus faster hands. He'd get off first all night.
Tua is the much harder hitter and has at least as much a chin as Ruiz. He will win the exchanges and probably by KO.
Lol ruiz does have a jab but he doesn't have good foot works and he stands in his pocket meaning he likes to come straight forward to a fighter throwing combination. <<<If he did like that vs a prime tua? It'll be a night night time for Ruiz Jr.
I think it would be a bona fide war and highly doubt it would be a blowout either way and I doubt the winner wins by stoppage. I think Ruiz is the better boxer and has more skill, hand speed, probably reach advantage but not sure, better counterpuncher...... Tua has better foot speed and had good hand speed but he's still way behind Ruizby far here, Ruiz is a flat-out blazing gunslinger. Tua I think is the better overall specimen, I think he might have a slight edge Minchin but its negligeable either way. I slightly favor Ruiz by SD/MD or razor sharp UD but I wouldnt bet my money on either and wouldn't be surprised either way regarding the winner. The only thing that would surprise me would be one of them stopping the other. I do however believe there would be 1 or more knockdowns throughout the fight. Either way, it wouldnt have looked like last night, it would have been a FIGHT for sure.
Lol no no no no no no no. Ruiz Jr is a straight forward combination puncher which that's basically his style. <<That style wouldn't work with a prime Tua. Ruiz likes to go on the inside while pressuring and that's a style that favors tua cause that's what tua wants.
I'm a huge Tua fan, followed his career.. and respect him more than I respect Ruiz, but if Ruiz is disciplined I can see Tua getting outboxed.
And Ruiz Jr clearly doesn't have the chin that a prime Tua has. Tua in his career never lost that doesn't go to the scorecards. In fact tua only been knock down 1 time in his career which he was 38 years old in the 12th round.
Lol ruiz is a straight forward style fighter which he has quick combinations.<<<<That style wouldn't work vs a prime tua. Tua two loses (Clearly) was against great pure boxers in bryd and lewis who both didn't came straight forward but move backwards making tua come to them.
What's Tua going to do? Ruiz is a counter puncher by heart. That's best punch was his left hook, once Ruiz time's it he's letting his combos fly and stepping out of the way. IF Ruiz would go into the Tua fight weighing 180+ then I can see Tuan chin checking him eventually, but a focused and dedicated Ruiz has the boxing skills to outbox the Tuaman.
