The first fight, Ruiz became complacent. Ruiz was swarming AJ like a hawk on stiff prey. Parker was dancing around that dub of lard, give me a break. This is boxing 7-5 if I'm being generous. I've watched the fight a handful of times. Ruiz ineffective aggression! I'd love the fight on neutral, maybe England? I think the fans would appreciate it there? Hearn has to make it happen. I'm skeptical if Parker-Ruiz II is a big sell in Vegas? Where should it take plave?
Ruiz doin what a fighter should be doin . Showin who is champ . A rematch wit Parker to redeem his only loss .
I actually give Parker a solid chance on a Ruiz rematch. He got all the attributes he just need to up his work rate a bit from the first fight to make it clear who's winning.
Please, Ruiz is so much better prepared and better then he was the first fight. Only fighter getting stopped would be Parker.
Honestly I don't even think the Mexicans give a **** about Parker. I don't think Ruiz was really on their radar until he knocked Joshua out.
He was in better shape than versus AJ and had trained at Big Bear under Sanchez. He had way more time to prepare for his opponent against Parker than versus Joshua - except he was fighting a Parker who at the time had been planning down time to get his elbows sorted but took the fight despite being well <100% as that was too good an opportunity to avoid. Realistically both guys would not doubt be better prepared than last time and the fight should be a very competitive and even higher level affair than last time. Be silly to claim a dominant win either way when there wasn't one last time, and neither guy could put a dent in the other
i mostly agree, but at top levels, its a game of inches. the victory over aj will undoubtedly raise andys level quite a bit mentally, which will no doubt translate to his execution in the ring. sort of how canelo looked against rocky, after having dealt with ggg. physically, i think parker is a good match. but mentally, i think andy has a huge edge and it will make all the difference.
This is a hard one to speculate on, but realistically I am not so sure about this. Parker looked like he went rock bottom and then came to a huge realisation (too late) when fighting against a dirty fight vs Dillian Whyte and a ref who wouldn't pull him in... he got headbutted, elbowed and wrestled for 12 rounds against one of the biggest punchers in the division and still almost knocked him out in the end. Since that point Parker has been training the house down even when not in camp for an opponent, and from the 10th round in the Whyte fight I think he has looked as determined as he has looked in his entire career. He has been to the top, fallen twice and is now hell bent to do what he can to get in the mix again. Andy is obviously very strong mentally, but he's going against a person who has been in tougher times than Ruiz has been in the ring and remained dangerous and driven right to the end and learned from it. I think it would be silly to count on mental toughness being his downfall at this stage when Parker would see Ruiz as the same obstacle that Ruiz saw Joshua as being....
i will admit that im basing my analysis on what ive seen of parker, which was only against aj and fury. i was not impressed with his heart then, but then maybe my data was incomplete. parker just didnt strike me as having the fangs for a real dog fight, but i could be wrong. if in fact parker was injured against ruiz, then in a rematch i should expect more involvement from parker, which will probably lead to that dogfight im referring to, so we shall see.
I can agree Ruiz is entitled to face a soft touch opponent after beating Joshua twice. Parker would fit that description perfectly, however he doesn't deserve a title shot as of now. If it happens, Ruiz by UD.
