"He was always mediocre." He had some exceptional attributes, other than his handspeed: he's one of the easiest heavyweights of all time to underestimate and one of the most humiliating to lose to!
Pretty much. He's not a draw and doesn't seem to want to work himself into a decent payday. Just wants everything handed on a plate. Pun intended.
Hed finish wilder But wilder wont give yous that fight Both have no value Duke it out between them freeze the American heavies out
He produced a career best performance against AJ but has since looked bang average. I've never rated him that highly and that defeat is a serious black marker on Joshua's resume. On his day he's a lower top 15 guy.
The sport of boxing is based on money, Ruiz having dethroned AJ is still a fine moniker to have, and to a promoter it is gold dust with which to sell a fight. Imagine if Andy had been facing Wilder rather than Joseph Parker, Andys name would surely sell better than Josephs. If Parker was picking up millions for the Wilder bout, Ruiz would have got at least same if not more, that seriously is not small change. Ruiz wasting his boxing talents and the opportunities they have given him.
Actually, I suspect that a totally slim Ruíz would be able to make cruiserweight. Look at his build, short, short arms, fatter than a hippopotomo, actually, Andy could have been an all time great in the cruiser division. Call me crazy, but the far guy is (was?), a great talent.
Make Ruiz vs Parker. Winner gets rematch with AJ. Parker if he wins will have dominated Wilder and defeats Ruiz - so he’d be worthy. And Ruiz if he wins could angle the trilogy aspect. As Joshua waits for Fury vs Usyk to be settled
