I thought Lee looked very good against Chavez until he ran out of gas. Chavez was simply too big for Lee, and his pressure wore Lee out and he was unable to maintain the pace. It didn't help that nothing he threw slowed Chavez down for long. I wouldn't hold this fight against Lee, he took at least four rounds and looked good fighting a cruiserweight.

Johnny Nelson was basically a Journeyman at the start of his career at Heavyweight. When he stepped down to Cruiser weight he went Undefeated for 10 years and become a world champion.

    Don't rule Lee out.

I rank Lee above Murray, for years Ive thought that this boy's got something going on. Id have expected him to do a better job with Sturm than Geale.

provided he was actually referring to Lee as British then its a flat out ignorant and flase comment.

reminds me of jim lampley talking about the rise in talent of british fighters "like andy lee who you train from ireland emmanuel"

:patsch this is not what james connolly had in mind

at least manny steward made an awkward noise like "I wouldn't say that to andy jim"

Chavez is no middleweight, i think a rule must be made for fighters to only put on so much weight after weigh in, otherwise its unfair to geniune middleweights like Lee

Do you just look for the most extreme interpretation of things people say? Heavens...

Did I say Lee fighting was pointless? No. Did I say he wasn't entertaining? No. Did I say he couldn't be in good fights? No.

I said he's not very good. He isn't. He never has been. Nothing wrong with that. He's mediocre.

Maybe you should be sensible before pouring scorn on someone else's view.

He lost to Brian Vera. His competition after that basically hit a high point with the woefully average Craig McEwan, who outboxed him for ten rounds before getting tired and sloppy. He then stunk the joint out in his rematch with Vera, who had been battered by a LMW in James Kirkland.

The most comical thing was this somehow qualified him for a shot at a title!

He was mediocre then, and remains so.

conveniently ignoring that Lee completely outboxed him for the other 9.5 rounds of that fight. And didnt that "mug" knock seven shades of shite out of Darren Barker for 6 rounds not to long after?
