The fight is taking place at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in Puerto Rico, with WBO light flyweight champion Angel ''Tito'' Acosta making his maiden defense against Nicaragua's Carlos ''Chocorrontito'' Buitrago.

Interesting match up. Acosta won his belt last december on the Miguel Cotto vs Sadam Ali undercard against rugged mexican Juan Alejo in what was supposed to be for the interim belt, but just a day before the fight took place, Kosei Tanaka (who beat Acosta) vacated the belt. Inside the ring Acosta is a power puncher with all 17 wins coming by KO, but don't get it twisted Acosta is a talented fighter. Against Alejo he showed the ability to cut off the ring, had good inside work and managed to stop Alejo, something Donnie Nietes couldn't do.

Carlos Buitrago despite being the veteran of the two, with almost 10 years behind his belt, is the younger man (Buitrago is born 1991, while Acosta is born 1990). Buitrago has never been one to shy away from traveling, with having fought in: Thailand, Japan, The Philippines, Mexico and now Puerto Rico. Buitrago has had 2 failed attempts to win a major belt, the first being against Merlito Sabillo, which ended in a draw and the second being against Hiroto Kyoguchi, with Carlos getting the dog**** beat out of him, but in my opinion Buitrago was weight drained, if you look at his last 2 fights, they were at flyweight and light flyweight, and even in the rematch against Knockout CP Freshmart, Buitrago looked rather drained.

I've always like Carlos as a fighter and i hope he has his Groves or Beltran moment, with winning a belt after a couple failed attempts, but i think Acosta will break down Buitrago and score a stoppage win.

    Acosta 5-8 TKO :chuck:

    Both guys' last 2 fights.

I'm actually surprised this fight is taking place, since in march Buitrago along with his mom, got charged with hiring hitmen to assassinate a lawyer.

Acosta is one to look out for. Another guy is Emmanuel Rodriguez, who is in the WBSS. :chuck:
