Based on what I'm reading on these forums, most people are making Lucas out to be invincible and will just walk right through Garcia in 2 rounds. Lucas has the one punch KO power, and it could happen, but Danny also has a lot of power in both hands and I'd say is a bit more skilled than Lucas on a technical level. Both of their defenses are average, so I expect both to get hit a lot. Danny's father should be saying this, he shouldn't doubt his son against Lucas otherwise it can really mess up his confidence level. This will hopefully be a helluva war.
Cant fault him for believing in his undefeated, undisputed son. So far Danny has backed up what his dad has said.
Yep. It's funny how Matthysse fans get so annoyed at the suggestion that anyone has a chance against him.
Lucas is not superman! He can be beaten, there is a blue print to beat him. Yes, his losses to Judas and Alexander were controversial, but all Garcia needs to do is do what they did but stick to the plan and make it to the end of the fight! I wouldn't rule out a Garcia tko win, as we don't know how Lucas's face will hold up against those Garcia counter hooks.
Garcia is not technically better than Matthysse I don't know why I keep reading that on this board. He got outboxed by Ashley Theophane. I give him a punchers chance against Matthysse, that's it. Matthysse will be stalking all night and Danny looked very uncomfortable on the back foot against Judah, did all of his best work coming forward
thought garcia struggled in patches with a faded judah tht khan even koed and matthesse blew away peterson thts y can c lucas being favoured by most on here
Matthysse isn't unstoppable, but with a good chin, a huge punch, and his skills constantly getting better.. Hard for to pick Garcia in this one. Garcia is obviously faster, more skilled, Judah did hurt him but seems to have a pretty good chin, etc. It's been a while since I watched the Matthysse/ Alexander & Judah fights, but if I remember correctly those were only 10 round fights (this one is 12), both of them did get knocked down at least once, and the two of them are more skilled defense fighters than Garcia. I can't see this fight going the distance. Only way I see Garcia winning is a huge counter to KO/TKO Matthysse, and of course we know how Mattysse is looking to win. Garcia was hurt against Judah, he seemed tired at times.... I can't see him lasting 12 rounds with an aggressive Matthysse without one of them getting hurt (best bet on garcia getting hurt IMO).
I'm picking Garcia to ko Matthysse. Judah told us all that we need to know about who wins and why. And for the record, no theories were involved in my decision.
Matthysse has not fought a true puncher yet. His chin is totally untested. His chin will be tested in this fight win or lose. I wish Danny had a natural right hand, but the hook and body shots should be enough. Matthysse can't take it to the body. When you acknowledge body shots, that means that they hurt more than usual, and Matthysse always does that.
Im going to look forward to the trashtalk in the build up and what contraversial statements about Argentinians will be made by Anal Garcia
