He didn't let his hands go. He spoke the truth. Yesh, Spence jab was in his face. But there were moments were he could've let his hands go. I think his SHOT to be honest. He just never opened up and start to knuckle down for at least 5 rounds. Every round he was trying to look for that perfect punch. I mean he always has to be set to throw. I think part of the reason Spence looked good is because Garcia didn't do much at all in the whole grand scheme of things. Kinda reminds me of Lomachenko you hit that mental block. Where you're like I got to throw but the brains is like, NOO.You can't shake it off. The more the rounds go by etc. Well, that's he is just a good fighter not a great one. The great one got that mental fortitude to go for it. This content is protected
After Danny gets knocked out in some future fight. Angel: "If he woulda gotten up, he wouldn't have got knocked out".
I also think Angel has reached his level or summit as a trainer. To get Danny better will require another trainer.
Garcia threw 700 punches against Spence, matching the punch count of Spence! Garcia threw 500 against Porter Garcia thew 600 punches against Peterson and gassed badly late fight Garcia did his best, one of his highest punch counts ever. Spence is the highest pace fighter at WW NO EXCUSES I think he fought really really well. No shame in losing to a better man. I think Spence can fight better than that also...
Whoa, he even threw less against those two? wow. Well, it sounds good on paper and all but watching the fight felt like he threw less than 8 punches a round. And his POP can vouch for this. He said it himself. He didn't let his hands go. My opinion is in line with his. So? He is a trainer and you a ESB poster! Well, i really don't want to see the Thurman fight. Because that was the fight his dad was pissed at Danny.
I thought he fought a very good fight, he actually nearly matched Spence in landed power punches. Also came within a hair of landing some devastating counter rights which would've turned the fight around.
Thought he did well in a tough fight, kept finding space and throwing in compact areas. Had some little spells of success. Not shot. Not even close.
Get him a new trainer that's not going to be real with the Swift one. Maybe his pop needs accept his son is not that kind of fighter. Not the kind of boxer to take charge of the situation or step out of his comfort zone and go for it.Let it be what it is..
I agree with his Dad. Visually, Danny didn't let his hands go enough. Don't really give a **** about CompuBox bogus punch stats. The rounds Danny lost, he lost because he didn't let his hands go.
Danny is 32 years ago, has been a pro since 2007, and has been on world level for the last 8 years. His pops has trained him his entire pro and amateur career - it is too late for a change. He is who he is, and Angel has guided him to a pretty damn solid career. No point in changing trainers now, that change would have had to happen in Danny's early 20s.
he wasnt never in the same league as guys like, porter, spence, thurman. he made his name at 140 and beat a bunch of bums at 147 but couldnt really compete with the top dogs in that division.
