I think more people watch the replay then the live show to be honest.. And i'm not sure what the purses would be but i think HBO would be able to afford It especially since its early on in the year. I think it would do good ratings.

Theanatolian is correct here, HBO wont put up big purses for non prime-time. Whether it makes any sense or not is debatable, but it is what it is.

Primetime is live isn't it? Wlad-Fury was shown at 1pm over here, the replay was shown at 7pm... So you think HBO wouldn't buy GGG-Saunders and put it on at 1pm like they do every other fight that is over seas?

You are confusing buying with with sponsoring purses.

HBO will happily pay 6 figures for foreign high profile fights, or whatever the rebroadcast fee is (sometimes less) from whichever distributor has rights to the fight.

HBO will not, and has not in the past decade afaik, paid 7 figures+ especially mid 7 figures for a foreign non prime-time fight.

I think HBO would happily pay a fee to broadcast a BJS in the afternoon, but they aren't likely at all to pay a 5 million dollar license fee for it. A UK broadcaster would have to sponsor the fight, which should really be BJS promoter trying to find the money in that case.

**edit: no primetime means peak evening viewing hours, in this case in the US.

What does tyson have to do with this? He never fought anyone who he wasn't suppowed to demolish. Him not being all that or close to it was the reason he got handled so easily so many times.

Talk about a one trick pony, that was him. Could take a good shot but couldn't recover from good shots, that's what he was

    :yep

Tyson was all smoke and mirrors.

Soon as he fought somebody that wasn't afraid of him he got KTFO.

    This.

Angel Garcia is often funny in his brutal honesty, but when it comes to Danny his standards become the exact opposite of his rants.

GGG fans think he's unbeatable the same way those betters did when they bet the house on Tyson to Beat Douglas...Alot of people lost their houses that day and became homeless, True story! :deal

BJS has a helluva chin as shown in the Jr and Lee fights.

No doubt he could last some rds vs GGG, and he'd also have a definitive size advantage coming in around 175/176 to GGGs 169/171.

I just don't believe that over the course of 12 rds he could mount enough offense to win rds while maintaining his survival mode.

It would either be an 11-1 type shutout win for GGG or a mid rds KO for him.

But yeah, 2.4 million bucks and chance to be the first to take Gennady the distance(since he's started fighting 10 rdrs), even in defeat, would certainly be no big L.

He's gotta realize that GGG is heading N just as soon as he wins that WBC belt, so this time next yr, BJS would likely be right back in the mix to regain his title, or even better, the coveted WBC or WBA Super titles. :think
