Angel Garcia on Matthysse vs Garcia

I actually started a thread a few weeks ago stating that Garcia WOULD fight Lucas, he's a proud kid and he obviously fancies the fight, I'm not one of those guys who are saying that Garcia has 0 chance in the fight, going on both's previous performance Lucas is the favorite, but it'll be 50/50 on the night.

I just disagree with what Angel is saying in a big way, Lucas laughed at Judah's best weapon and Garcia was stunned quite badly a couple of times against Zab, not to mention he was badly shook up by Ashley Theophane in their fight, as well as Morales in their first fight, he's got a solid chin, but he's shown signs he can be hurt, but then again so can every other human being and Lucas Matthysse is no different either.

 

Lol this crackhead really believe this?,cause lucas respects danny, all of his opponents actually doesn't take anybody lightly.He's going to get his son stretched out & killed if he keeps this **** up.Thing is this bs doesn't phaze him,they asked him recently about broners **** talk he laughed & just shrugged it off.He plans taking care of danny said maidana will with broner.If he doesn't he already stated he's willing to fight both.Make way for the real 140lb champ,his reign like Rigo was inevitable & title shot long overdue.

 

I feel like I'm constantly defending Garcia on here. And although I'm a Garcia fan, I feel like it's more a reaction to the weird LM insanity that has swept this place.

Per your points:
1) "Garcia took a long time to sign"
Could be a number of reasons, point is, it was signed. You don't know the legal back and forth that went on, it could have just as easily been a wording in the contract that one team didn't like. If you've ever dealt with complicated contracts you'd know how long these things can take.

2) "landed a perfect left hook on khan / beat up Morales / beat Judah in a non-spectacular way"
Yup, knocked the hell out of Khan, but more then anything it showed us that he can time a speedy fighter, and Khan, for all of his glass is also very quick. It also showed us what kind of finisher/fighter Garcia is. he's patient, which I think he'll need against LM, because getting into a slugfest with LM is clearly the wrong play. By the way, when you put 'glass jaw' in quotes, it makes it read like you don't think Khan has a fragile chin.

Morales was fat and old. It's true. However he took Maidana to the brink not long before that fight, he's crafty if nothing else and durable. Plus, the first fight with Morales was Garcia's first 'big' fight. When he adjusted to a larger stage he put Morales away in a much better fashion.

Beat Judah somewhat unspectacularly. Judah's fast, a former champion, but he's mentally unstable in the ring and prone to crumble. Yeah, we all know that. I'm not saying that LM hasn't gotten better since he lost to Judah, but Judah is never really and easy out for anyone. Certainly wasn't for Matthysse (even if it was his first 'step up' fight).

 

Garcia "signed" the fight otherwise he would have been stripped. Lucas is the mandatory.

ugh, again: you're basically saying that because it wasn't done on YOUR schedule that implies that Garcia is scared?

if there were news reports that 'everything with the contract is agreed to, but Garcia hasn't signed yet' for months then I'd agree with you. But we heard some rumors from GB/Schaeffer and then a couple of weeks - or month - and both teams signed with plenty of time for 6 week camp.

 

I hear Ambalamps, I see Angel crying and holding his unconcious son in hands and screaming "Oh Danny, Danny... WHYYYYYY???!!!"

Garcia had to sign to fight Matthysse otherwise he would have been stripped of his title. Not sure if Garcia will put his other title on the line. Garcia demanded a lot for this fight. The look on Garcia's face when Matthysse stopped Peterson showed fear. Garcia picked Peterson to beat Matthysse. I guess he was wrong. A fight can go anyway, but I can't see Garcia going the distance with Matthysse. Matthysse was Garcia's WBC mandatory....................

 

i declare i will give full props to garcia if he beats matthyse...


but i laugh at the idea of that happening ... matthyse is going to beat garcia so bad it may just violate the geneva convention

 

Will Garcia put the post fight pics of his blue face on instagram, the question remains.

Angel gonna get danny put in a coma, because when this is gets translated to matthysse all respect goes out the window. Danny garcia knows what's up , because he thought sparring partner mike dallas would give matthysse hell and he got put to sleep, he also thought peterson would be too skilled for matthysse, and he got destroyed.......Matthysse knew Dallas dedicated the fight to his pops that passed away and matthysse still showed no remorse in that ring, matthysse is also a very underrated boxer.

 

Let us not forget danny cuts+swells easy to, so if he's taking too much punishment angel will have to suck up his pride and throw in the towel.

 

Why should Angel act any differently. Danny and team know whats at stake. For them to act any differently would be wrong.

Danny needs to be Danny and continue to prove his doubters wrong. All he does is show up and win. Dating back when people said he was in way over his head with Holt. He has gotten better and adjusted to many different styles along the way.
