I've seen his fight with Mayweather and his fight with Gatti (although I wasen't paying much attention to the Gatti fight). Apart from that I know nothing about him. I've just downloaded his fights with Calvin Grove and John Brown, 2 guys im aware of. Was there anything particulary good or noteworthy about Manfredy? Any info about these 2 fights mentioned would be appreciated, but please refrain from the result, I want to be surprised
First saw him against Gatti and then Ivan Robinson and Mayweather. Ducked the hell out of Mosley at 135 when Manfredy stepped in there for a couple fights. He was a pretty serious contender at 130 though, and the fight with Corrales was supposed to be tough and competitive. I was shocked at how easy Chico made it look. I thought he was white, but later I found out he was from PR. :nut
the gatti-manfredy fight was a classic, like most of gatti's fights. manfredy was a decent fighter but everytime he went up in class to fight for a belt he was outclassed each time, especially by floyd and chico. to understand how highly manfredy was thought of at one point, the winner of his bout vs mayweather was going to be named 1998 ring fighter of the year. quick stoppage but we all understand where that fight was heading. floyd was incredible at 130.
