He shouldnt be in the hall but he was a heckuva fighter. When he came to France he had all the promise and talent in the world. Had he not been so taken with the nightlife and booze there is no telling what he could have accomplished. Instead he became a drunk, a womanizer, and trial horse.
Feel the same way you do about ARG, LT. When I first saw him train in Miami beach in the '50s, I thought he was some sweet fighter -- a smaller Gavilan, whipping bolos in the pocket. He could stand on dime, making a fighter miss 'n throwing pinpoint combinations. If he had an eraser, he'dda been a helluva fighter.
