Big Brother contestent (no I never watched it) next fight will be against Wolverhampton's first female pro boxer/"world" champion (GBC title) Lyndsey Scragg, who's only defeat came challenging for the WBC women's title over in Canada. Top of the bill which will be at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Sept 18th will be local favourite Steve Saville fighting for the vacant English Lightweight strap (Lawton's vacated to go to Super-Feather). http://www.wolvescivic.co.uk/index.asp?loc=whatsonshow&woid=14104 Lyndsey will box her ears off! "Big Bother" lol.
If women want to box then good luck to them but a 3-15 contender for a world title is bringing the sport into disrepute.
lol, even in Women's boxing the GBC hasn't any credibility. You wouldn't be complaining if a Male fighter 3-15 fought for the GBC title and that's because you wouldn't even hear about it. McKenzie may be a little better than her record suggests(maybe) but she's pretty average at best and that's within women's boxing which doesn't have near the depth of the Male version obviously and the disparity of quality between the champions and the lower down fighters is even greater.
Just to put in cos don't want to turn this into a thread slagging off women's boxing, Lyndsey Scragg is a very good fighter, she always puts a good shift in. Obviously the reason this Angel has got the chance is because they're hoping the Big Brother angle will sell them a few more tickets, its business.
