    Angelo Dundee

He's young and coming on better than anyone believed he would. He gave Holmes a hell of a fight. Tim doesn't look it, but he's a real cutie, and cuties like Roland LaStarza and Jersey Joe Walcott gave Rocky the most trouble. And, with it, Tim has a lot more size than Rocky had.

Witherspoon has a way of holding his right hand up high by his face and picking off left jabs with it, which frustrated Holmes a lot. Kenny Norton could do that, so could Archie Moore. But Marciano would have hurt him simply by punching that hand. You could cover up but Rocky would hurt you by hitting you on your hands, arms and elbows.

Witherspoon has a great teacher, Slim Jim Robinson, who has taught him marvelous moves. Rocky would have had to slide, jab up, hook off the jab, blast through with his right. At his peak he'd have overpowered the Witherspoon of today with no problem, but tomorrow, if Witherspoon continues to pick up cute stuff and improve, he could be a problem for any fighter.

Agreed with all of that. Sadly Witherspoon did not progress in a manner the Holmes fight seemed to imply he would.

Really interesting. Dundee was a hell of a trainer.
